More entertaining for you but personally I enjoyed this more.  Straight to thr point,  no BS and gave me all the info I needed.

Compare the ps4 reveal to the NX reveal not this.  Dont compare apples with oranges.  The ps4 reveals were all entertaining back in 2013.

It wasn't really to the point though. The Scorpio's reveal was to the point. This reveal  was a droning mess. Also, people were already saying that Nintendo "needed to go back to the drawing board" due to this announcement. And people are putting their two cents in, as they are in this thread including you. So there is a bit more similarity between these than apples and oranges.

I  actually felt that a large amount of the conference was about selling people on 4K/HDR TVs.  It seemed like they were trying to use the PS4 as a reason for people to buy HDR TVs rather than the other way around.

It was called a Meeting for a reason, not an event or show

If they're streaming it for the general public, they have to make it reasonably interesting.

It wasn't a game conference really made to hype everyone, it was more of a business conference made to officialize what everyone already knew.

Insiders and forumers are the ones guilty of trying to hype it with things like the Vita Trinity, The Last of Us 2 or Red Dead Redemption 2.

They did exactly what was promised, nothing more but nothing less either. Wait for the PGW or PSX conference for the real hype moments. Maybe for the TGS too, but usually their conference are also less lively (but with great games).

Well said.  This wasn't meant to be a fun event.  That's what e3,  pgw,  tgs and psx are for.  This was a sincere event to show off the new hardware.

Comparing it to a fun direct is ridiculous.  How about you compare the directs to the game events and then compare the number of titles shown for Nintendo vs Sony.  You won't be dissapointed then.

This was their showcasing of updated hardware, NX's showing is coming up. Not really all that different beyond Nintendo's will be vastly more entertaining.

LMAO, in what world is showing a new SKU for PS4 equal to announcing and revealling an entirely new generation of console? The NX reveal will obviously be more exciting because its a brand new console which we know very little about. It will also be arriving with a ton of brand new games announcements.

I'm pretty sure they were streaming for a subset of hardcore gamers and enthusiasts which is pretty much the opposite of the general public.

There is a device for people with no appreciation for visual quality and it's called PS4 slim.

Conferences outside of E3 can't be entertaining then huh?

They sure can but when zero games are being announced, how exciting do you expect it to be? It doesn't make sense to compare it Nintendo last Direct. Press getting hands on immediately after and returning with previews is likely why the meeting existed in the first place.

Man, it's almost as if someone should have planned ahead or something.

Tell me how you make a talk about specs and specific visual technologies more fun.

I guess you also fall asleep at TED talks because they aren't interrupted every 5 seconds by a man in a blue overall.

Microsoft and Sony have done it in the past, I think the first thing I would do, is not have presented facts being given to me by Mark Cerny, he is a great human being possibly, but his voice is a bit too soothing, which set the tone for dullness.  Other things I would do is maybe and honestly have activision section of the presentation swapped out for some one else, maybe bungie staff member could presented how Destiny might be reflected by the new design, EA did fine with Mass Effect, and so did Horizon, so nothing wrong in that regard.

I really don't understand how people can complain about it being boring. This was meant exclusively for media outlets and investors to see the future of the PS division. Simple. Also, I watched the 3DS event and a lot of the "entertainment" factors were childish and cringeworthy. Made me feel like I was watching a PBS Kids show.

I guess PS4 Pro is doomed to fail then, huh.

Well, better luck next time, Sony.

You know you can have stuff do amazingly well, and be presented horribly boring, just look at the Wii 2008, or that apple conference, or that other apple conference.

I understand. I also always fall asleep during conferences unless there are flashing lights and jumping Italians every 5 seconds on the screen to refresh my tiny attention span.

Some people need that I guess. I don't quite understand you though, but your preference is perfectly valid. Hate to reduce myself to needlessly take jabs at you for that.
