Forums - Gaming Discussion - The PS4 Pro event made me realise something.

It really made me appreciate Nintendo's digtal events. I mean even the last 3DS only direct was at least entertaining, as well as having some new 3DS goodness to announce.

The PS4 Pro event had me tuning out within the first 5 minutes. The information in the even was good enough, don't get me wrong. The way it was presented reduced me to tears of boredom. Didn't really help that they showed no new game to add to the hype, but it was just supposed to be a console reveal.

Granted NX will be a new reveal vs a redesign, still I think they could bury the competition's hype, not with power (obviously), but with good old fashioned entertainment in the games they show and how they present it; and I think they will do just that.

Sony just has boring executives. Say what you want about Reggie, but he's certainly more charismatic than Sony's gang.

they didnt have much to work with either. the 3ds direct gave me lots to look forward to. but im underwhelmed with all the other consoles.

want some pot? i made a coffee.

They could have used a thesaurus too. Did they need to say unprecedented every 5 minutes.

My view: Yesterday's event was boring, dull and uninspired.
Nintendo Direct: Generally exciting, and inspired.
Sony E3 presentation the last two or maybe three years: Better than above 2 in terms of excitement, presentation, quality and quantity.

It was called a Meeting for a reason, not an event or show

Despite your last claim which I at least in part disagree with, the NX reveal has a solid chance at not being buried by hype, which was all until yesterday was one ofthe biggest concerns I had with NX reveal.

But in all honesty, the only entertainment even PS4's E3 provides are its games, which is all it needs so it works. Beyond that Xbone and PS4's E3s are pretty boring too. If NX comes with the games and a entertaining way to present it, it could actually bury the PS 4 Pro hype (not necessarily saying it will sell better, but people will be paying attention to it).

Meetings don't have to be devoid of all personality and fun.

Havent seen the event but I'm disappointed at the lack of new announcements :(

Last year's announcements/showcase was far more better than what was shown this year.

I figured they kept SOMETHING that would really showcase the new tech, mostly thinking a new game that would be coming to the OG PS4, but would be seen for the first time on the Pro. Was disappointed.

Well said.  This wasn't meant to be a fun event.  That's what e3,  pgw,  tgs and psx are for.  This was a sincere event to show off the new hardware.

Comparing it to a fun direct is ridiculous.  How about you compare the directs to the game events and then compare the number of titles shown for Nintendo vs Sony.  You won't be dissapointed then.
