Not worried about Sony's one-year head start

Because of that power gap, Penello said Microsoft isn't especially worried about the one-year head start that the PS4 Pro will have on Scorpio. When asked about a more concrete release date, Penello reiterated the holiday 2017 timetable that Xbox head Phil Spencer announced at E3 2016.

"We announced this year to give developers more time to familiarize themselves with the hardware," Penello said. When asked if the work developers are doing on the PS4 Pro now will benefit Scorpio when it launches next year, Penello responded that he hoped so. "It's interesting that we've arrived in a similar place," Penello said, referring to Microsoft and Sony. "The PlayStation 4 Pro gives developers a road map for 4K gaming."

Thing is, PS4 has japanese games I want to play- Persona, Naruto(important for me), Street Fighter, etc.

Even if Xbox Scorpio is twice as powerful, the lack of certain games bugs me.

If the Neo can be $400 this year, I think the Scorpio should be the same.

But will they have the games to back it up? The PS4 Pro will have the games.

Does the thread Title suggest that people would be stupid to go for a machine which is 2 teraflops under the power of the rival console? If that is the case MS have just inadvertently said not to buy the X1 for the next year until the Scorpio comes out, since there is the same difference between the current X1 and PS4P as there would be between the PS4P and the X1Scorp.

I mean the power advantage for the next 15 months will be obvious between PS4P and the X1/S, there has to have been a better way to phrase this which doesn't make it look like they're selling a lemon for the next year and a 1/4.

The year head start is what will kill it. PS4 was already dominating, but with an effective price drop in tow you can bet the gap gets bigger.

Watch the Scorpio come out Holiday 2017 and the PS5 is announced for 2018. There's been multiple rumors that Sony is prepping the PS5 for 2018.

I think they might be right, the unveiling of the PS4 Pro was quite boring and I watched kind of funny games after the fact and all 3 of the hosts where saying that they didn't think about upgrading and the console seemed pointless.

Overall the PS4 pro isn't a bad thing, for new owners, but it does seem a little lacklustre in the end. I do think I will end up buying a Scorpio for third part games and Microsoft does have a good first party.

Microsoft has a chance on selling me on it is what I am saying because I am surely keeping my PS4 for the exclusives, and there is no reason to buy the pro, if Microsoft gives me a good reason to get the Scorpio, I will buy it, else the Xbox one S seems like a good deal for my 4k UHD discs next year :)
