It's been a while since Sony fucked up on the hardware front. Good to see.

It won't really matter though since people love playstation and will probably buy it without even knowing it / needing it.

4k blurays are very niche at the end of the day. It's not going to be as fast growing as blurays.

I'm honestly really upset, but I suppose they needed to omit it in favor of a lower price...

It's still bullshit, though.

Except its not lol Go take a look at Twitter and all the articles. Theyre all talking about the Pro

Seeing people upset about the PS4Pro design or just the fact that it doesn't have a Ultra HD Blu-Ray player is probably not a good trending ...

Twitter hates everything lol Just wait until the NX is announced. You will see the worst.

I can see how people who wanted a 4K player might be bummed, but those wanting 4K gaming, 4K streaming and VR can't go wrong.

I used to buy a lot of DVDs and BRs but I have up on it. Between Netflix, Plex and other services, I no longer have a need for the physical stuff.

I can easily switch films, series etc and it takes up no space. Unlike gaming, the trade in value for Physical media is horrendous.

.... who seriously still buys movies on discs?

I dont even buy games on discs anymore.... but thats just me i guess.

I do not buy movies on disc but I sure enough rent only Blu Ray movies for my 4K set.  I would definitely be renting 4K UHD movies when they start to come out so having either PS4 Pro, Scropio or One S having this ability is a big plus.  Since the Pro doesn't have it, I am on the fence whether or not I will upgrade my existing PS4.

Well, most people won't see the difference between 4K and 1080p on less than 80 inch TV and even then the difference is barely noticeable. Heck, most people I know doesn't even see the difference between 720p and 1080p on big screen. And most movies filmed in the last decades are 2K, for example Gravity was filmed as 2K. I would say that HDR is 100 times more important than 4K. You will see the difference between HDR and non-HDR but you won't see any difference between 4K and 1080p.

Already bought an Xbox S just for my 4K blu Rays. Got a 4K tv in May and wanted a good 4K player and Microsoft came through with a games console and 4K player in one. All for $299. $399 for my 2tb version.

Thanks Microsoft!

When one has a top of the line tv and surround sound, ect one does not rely on compressed streaming services.

You want the best picture and sound you get it on disc.

And if one has a 4k tv that has HDR, would one not want to use it to its fulllest?

Also you do realize that to use 4k HDR content on Netflix (I looked th eother day) it requires at MIN a 20 mb internet speed. Not everyone has that.

So you want to but a console and want the best? But you don't want the best graphics? Instead you want to play 4K Blu Rays. Strange decision when buying a console. Wouldn't you want your 4K HDR TV to show off the best games possible when buying a console?

This is what im finding ridiculous .

All of a sudden they want a console that give them 900p games with HDR but plays 4k movies. instead of a console that gives them 1080p/4k games with HDR.

All of a sudden, the main reason many people seem to have wanted a PS4p is to play movies on it.

Lmao.... just ridiculous

Not a big deal - people don't physical movies anymore.
