Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Slim, $299, September 15th - PS4 Pro, $399, November 10th

Well, that is definitely not a premium device, but I am glad to finally have a 4K option, and at a price that is quite lower than I had budgeted for.

I actually think the coolest thing is the fact that every PS4 will be HDR capable. For those that haven't been able to experience this, you will be blown away by the enhancement it brings.

Overall, I would give the event and the console a 6/10. Sony did great by bringing us 4K and HDR, but they did nothing to expand the brand with this hardware update. Hopefully, PS4 Pro willsell very well and give Sony the confidence to build even more high end models in the future.

I think Microsoft could win an audience if they announce a 60fps box

Double GPU and sticking with Polaris. Same CPU but clocked up. Looks like they stuck to the 4.2TB. I'm happy with that as it's a decent power bump, still does 4K and it's stupidly affordable.

The slim could have been cheaper, but will probably come with a really good bundle or two. Perfect for kids or as a second console.

Good move. That's how you do announcements ib this era: nearest posible to launch.

They could do it since Slim and PS4 Pro release so close to each other.

If MS would have announced Scorpio after the XBO S then everyone would have said that MS tricked people into buying the XBO S before announcing Scorpio.

So yeah, MS can do whatever they want, people will complain about it. It would be  either a too early or too late Scorpio announcement in gaming forums.

It's over bro.....

PS4 Pro does not support 4K Blu-Ray. What a fucking idiotic move.

Eurogamer has been pretty on point with the leaks for both the Neo and Scorpio. If we go by them for Scorpio and MS doesn't change anything, the frame rate will be the same as the x1's just more stable round off. So like if a game is running at 25 fps, it will be stable 30 fps. It won't be like a game is running 30 fps will be 60 fps on Scorpio provided the leaks are true.

This will sell like crazy. The original model had this price, there's zero reasons to not buy a PS4 Pro if you are new.

Scorpio will be too late for the party when it comes.
