We have a law against provoking/insulting people because of their colour/religion/social group etc. And we have jailtime as one of the penalties on this. If you break the law you get penalized. Isn't it simple enough? |
How about provoking/insulting people for their sexual preferences, does that fall under the same law?
Or perhaps arresting those people would count as provoking/insulting people because of their religion?
OT: Serves him right for forcing all those innocent Pokémon into captivity. If Pokémon GO ever served one purpose it would be exposing the people who would be perfectly fine with owning slaves had they been born in a time where the act was readily available and socially acceptable.

Where did I say that you cant criticise the law? I said you cant break it. You can try to change the law, but not by breaking it. You break the law you get punished period. Once you start allowing people to subjectively judge what laws they should or shouldnt follow you've removed the point of having laws in the first place. A psychopath might think that homocide laws are stupid too. |
You may wanna read again what you wrote. "if you dont like the laws move"
Also, your example is terrible. The law about killing people is very clear. "Provoking relegion" is extremely vague.
Russia being Russia, seems like they really love to be seen as Europe's black sheep.

Yet you think it's ok for a government to subjectively judge how to enforce their laws? Edit: Also, let's say this stupid law was some other stupid law... maybe a law against gay people, or maybe one saying black people aren't allowed, would you then be saying 'too bad, they shouldn't have been gay/black then'? |
Apples and oranges. You can outlaw actions, not people. Being black is not an action. playing pokemon in a place where that is restricted and posting it online is an action. It's a decision he made.

And? Yes you can MOVE if you dont want to follow such laws. Or you can follow those laws and still, legally, fight for change. Or you can move and fight for change from overseas. There are options. Just dont break the law.

If that's what you meant, you could have said that instead of "if you dont like the laws move". Not my problem if you can't see the difference.
"Don't like them? Try to change them. In the mean time don't break them". Simple as that.
But as I said, there's no law that you can't play pokemon go in a church. The law is vague and could apply to a whole lot of things.

If Russia is a Europe's black sheep then I wonder what The Philippines is becoming. Now that would be a hard choice. Russia or Philippines...
