NBA 2K17 Features HDR Support on Xbox One S

This makes NBA 2K17 the first game to support HDR.

2K has confirmed to GameSpot that NBA 2K17 will support HDR on the Xbox One S. This makes the annual basketball game the first Xbox ONe title to support the new technology.

HDR stands for high dynamic range, and televisions that feature it have an expanded color and contrast range. It makes everything brighter and more vibrant. Other games that support the technology include Gears of War 4Forza Horizon 3, and Scalebound.

The Xbox One S is currently the only console to feature HDR support. InGameSpot's review, critic Jimmy Thang called it "a great time to jump on board," but if you don't care about things like 4K video and HDR, then he'd recommend the cheaper, original Xbox One. You can take a wider look at the critical reception with our review roundup.

NBA 2K17 releases for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 20. You canplay the game four days early by preordering it. There's also an $80 edition of the game based on former Los Angeles Lakers player Kobe Bryant.
