Goldeneye 007 was a killer application. Half Life was not.

LOL!!!!

Sorry, but this statement is just hilarious.  Half Life has been used as template for single player FPS games ever since it came out and paved the way for FPS storytelling.

Yeah, I was about to write the same reply...it's quite obvious from this thread alone how many people simply skipped a beat when it comes to gaming in general.

A lot of gamers limit themselves to select console brands, convince themselves that their choice is best, and end up missing out on so many great gaming experiences.

Bloody hell, now 333 votes and STILL just a single vote separating Goldeneye and Half Life.
Real nail biter this one! XD

Can't believe nobody has said Medal of Honor yet!

I remember playing that on PC (the ones by Steven Spielberg) and literally moving my head out of the way when enemies were shooting at me during intence action sequences. That's how immersive this game was compared to everything else when it came out.

Sadly the franchise is now as dead as Shazza on dole' night with a trolly full of goon.

I mentioned it! Not as the winner though. The original on PS1 was pretty great. Sad to see what the series has become :(

I love how Australian this sentence is.

More Australian than stopping by Macca's on the way to the servo to get some durries.

Goldeneye pulls ahead, but only just!
Still a close race...
