Forums - Gaming Discussion - Attack, claims and wannabe mods vs Reality

So last night I had a driect attack at me while the mods for some reason thought it was fine. Since this was allowed and I've seen a threads that are calling out people accepted by the mods, this should be fine.

Now the claims are full of bullshit and I will address it here for everybody to see. So here are some of the claims! So first of all a post was put up which he claimed was a messgae that he sent to the head mod, you know that one kid at school, the "I'm telling" kid, the post wiffed of that. It's too big to post so I'll just put a link up. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8044350 , those claims thou! I'll address that in a minute. Anyway the same poster went on to with these post

And just like that, you hammered the final nail in your own coffin. An explicit admission that this thread was created to antagonize people.

-You won't get a free pass this time. You'll get dragged to the chopping block and face actual consequences for your behavior.

When there is a large scale problem, it's the mod team's job to identify the root cause and crack down on it to send a strong message. You certainly qualify as a root cause and your recent thread creation history is more than enough evidence to justify action. This thread is not an isolated incident, it's part of a pattern.

-SWORDF1SH is long past the point where the benefit of the doubt works as a defense.

Back seat modding now also accepatable?
So I have a 2 things to adress here. So apparently my thread is worth a ban according to them. Let's take a look;

Greg Miller - 'No Man's Sky continues to meet all of my expectations'

MS - No generations 'eases the disruptive nature of moving to a new platform' - Will market Xbox One S aggressively

Are retailers struggling to sell the Xbox One S? Already $269.99!

Slim vs Slim - Cheap vs Luxury

PS4 Slim is 40% smaller

Free PS3 Game Codes - Lost Planet 3, Remember Me and more

Let's share 'Print Screens'!

Un-Savage Digitally Downloaded Review (No Man's Sky)

MS change deceptive Xbox One Slim image

NMS - What's Missing, a proper blind-hate free discussion (we can do this)

No Man's Sky owners chat - Park up your starship and drop anchor!

So those are my last 10, is this worthy of a ban?

To address another point, a claim made twice now by this one user and after addressing it once in one thread, he comes back with the same claim. The claim is that a "small group of users" can't accept the NMS is anything less than amazing. This was in that message sent to the headmaster mod and clearly aimed me (I get a mention in that message). It was also a wild claim made by another user in the same thread.

As you can see I already made a thread to discuss the stuff missing from NMS which is clearly something that somebody that can't accept NMS is anything less than amazing does /s . I will also post a few of my posts.

-Like I said in another post, 7/10 is probably right. It's 8/10 for me though, 9/10 if they fix performance issues and add a few things.

-In all fairness they've moved pretty fast. Hired a support bigger than their developing team and rolled out a patch for PC to fix things within a week. How messed up is it on PC, I don't know, but I'll say it's a big learning curve for a small team working on their first huge project.

-For it to be misleading there would have to be proof that Hello Games intentionally showed a better game than they knew they could deliver.

-Yep it won't reach Minecraft levels, 1 big reason is that it will probably struggle to take the mobile scene like Minecraft did. Minecraft can run on any shitty computer and any half decent phone, NMS will need a very dumbed down version to get it to workk on these devices.

-Looks shocking but that's about standard for most game. I still think this game will have good legs but not sure, it's a tricky one. We'll see!

-Yep that's pretty bad. I'm not surprised considering how it ran on PC in all honesty. These are PC figures.

-And this is the first post I've seen you post about the game that I agree with. In fact every NMS owner I've talked to would agree with you. But you have to understand why people stood up for the game, almost every thread didn't allow for people to voice the other side of the story. It was either hate it or GTFO.

-Hello Games needs to communicate with the public over these issues. Because of this they are compounding the problem.

Personally for me I'm really enjoying it and worth the hard earned I paid for it but the issues the game had at launch was unacceptable, gamers are entitled to a refund.

So that's my post history just skimming through it. Now what's interesting is that this user in his extra long message to the mods said that users from the extremes of both sides should have a be moderated. He says both sides but it's a small attempt in trying to sound unbiased because most of his message criticises the people being positive even going as far as to call me out within this message
"Consequently, that most of the discussion surrounding the game is criticism instead of praise shouldn't be surprising, but it's something that GribbleGrunger and Swordf1sh in particular have a hard accepting. Both of them have created NMS threads to antagonize people who have criticized the game, but both of them are also the frontrunners when it comes to complaining about the criticism the game is getting."
As I just proved this isn't the case but the mods stand by and watch this happen and a user is lying to deliberately shit on somebody's name. Now let's take a look at the post history in NMS from this guy making the claims

-I enjoy hating it. Brings back memories of The Order 1886.

I suppose you posted the picture of the development team to incite sympathy and empathy.

-The victims of the No Man's Sky hate train (including you) have an interest to pay back at least some of it. You can't really complain about the forums going downhill when you are adding to the problem.

-There are no issues,
No Man's Sky is fine,
Hand the haters tissues,
I will enjoy their whine.

-Is that really an issue when most people won't play longer than one week anyway?

You can skim through all the NMS threads and this user will have a negative view in all his posts. Not discussing the middle ground just negative. The same can be said for a few other users and I can easily add their posts to this thread and I might do if those users come in making more wild claims.

So surely in his message he wrote to the mods, he's part of the extreme negative side that he wants moderated? My post history shows that I'm not on the extreme positive side.

So my question is what are the mods going to do about this? This guy he deliberately trying to shit on peoples names with false accusations and snake like tactics.

Could I make a suggestion of just ignoring people? Works great for me when it comes to a single user trying to be a mod or so, just report and don't reply/make threads.

edit - the backseat modding thing could take a while for the mods to look over and come to an agreement on the punishment btw, so just if you did report it and didn't see immediate action it doesn't mean that they are not going to do anything about it just that it's a sensitive subject I would think Swordfish.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

You can't ignore attacks like this, if you ignore people assume it's true which is what he wants. This user gets away with a lot. Reports do nothing. But that message sent to head mod is very telling how he works behind the scenes.

Rol does have some pretty... odd posting habits. Some times he is the voice of reason, other times his posts just scream self superiority and are full of implications of stupidity towards other members, very passive aggressive and at times almost baiting an argument just for the pleasure they seem to get from 'winning' and stroking their ego by 'proving' their intelligence over another user. It's true that Rol could definitely be described as a back-set mod, always trying to take the high road and put other users in their place as it were.

Rol has an ego, Rol likes proving that he is 'intelligent'. Rol likes arguing (winning arguments), Rol enjoys acting as a moderator.

Sometimes Rol is also the only one speaking with actual reason however.

I'm not sure we should be discussing another user like this however, there's a lot that can be said about Rol good and bad, I don't think a thread seemingly dedicated to discussion about one user's activity is suitable though.

Well this should be fun

It should be allowed. Chazore made a thread calling out people and mods allowed it and closed it only when he couldn't provide evidence.

Over my many years lurking I have noticed that particular user be fairly... rude. Though they always keep their insults subtle or worded in a way that they don't get banned. It's clear they want to be a mod, it's also clear that they're not suitable to be a mod.

Though I don't think anything will change against a user with that many posts and history and is probably chummy with the mods too.

If anything that user will just use this thread against you.

He/She gets away with far more than most other people without moderation, and seems to love getting one over on other people.

What is funny is that you probably will get banned by this and Rol will be laughing behind his Pc in his home.

Only rol can post something like this on this forum lol

I will get banned but I've already decided to get the fuck out of here :) This place isn't worth my time with users like this about.

Rol is right though... He certainly put it harshly, but that doesn't make him wrong. BTW, Rüpel basically means "jerk".

Wrong forum.
