Forums - General Discussion - How to export a youtube video that switches video quality?

I actually managed to upload an HD quality of my video here. But if you try watching it and change the quality from 480p to 720p or 1080p, the quality remains the same. While if you change it to 240p quality it successfully gets blurry. In other terms, my 480p/720p/1080p are all the same video quality.

I use the H.264 and Youtube 1080p by the way as my settings for exporting my video from Adobe Premiere CS6.

How can I really export a video that can switch different video quality successfully?

It happened again here. 480p still the same with 720p/1080p. Why is that so? :(

That's not how youtube works. Resolution directly effects the bitrate. Upscale the video to 4k and reupload it.

Do I really need to upscale the video to 4k? Won't that take too much rendering? Yes I believe it will significantly improve the quality from HD to UHD. But my only problem is that how come 480p is exactly the same with 720p when I use YouTOB HD 1080p on my settings? Just like this video here again. :(

I never did find the reason or solution as to why 480p is the same with my 720p. Yes, upscaling it will improve the quality significantly but that would waste too much time and memory. But I think there's an easy way out. Anyway, I think I should be contented with this. I'm just really curious why is it like that. lol

After all this time no one still knows?

Yeah. I mean it's not really a big deal. But it still piques my curiosity so much. And I can't even find out via google.

I won't give up. lol
