In your opinion has the website improved over the past year, stayed about the same, or gotten worse?

I'm more or less a lurker nowadays so obviously I can't share my opinion hahaha.

Worse IMO!

I don't know - many people that were fun to argue with have left the site, others concentrated on getting more gamer points with creating copy-paste threads because they are banned on GAF on a regular base.
Nintendo threads are as usual and represent a sub culture with people that mostly don't appear on other threads that often, the disparity between Sony and MS fans has gotten worse this gen.
The importance of chartz in general got worse because of digital sales which are becoming more and more important and the website itself still is lacking in terms of usability as it was since I joined.

Functionally worse. Browser crashing and intrusive ads are worse than they have ever been. Sales numbers are never updated weekly like in the dim distant past.

Are you implying that the site was usable with ads a year ago?

I feel that the most important aspect, the actual charts, have slightly improved. Though, the hardware updates are still too far between.

The mobile ads are bad though. And the N4G stories have been taken away. Overall though, Id say slightly better just because the charts are better updated.

Mods don't get open feedback anymore on moderation, data doesn't get updated as frequently anymore, the participation around the forum is dropping which lowers diversity in discussion since only the most prominent users contribute and the passive aggressive extremism drives people off ...

Intrusive ads making the website unusable are much worse. The charts them selves are updated much less frequent now. I think there maybe a lack of passion with the working of the site now or maybe lack of funds. Luckily the forum community is still one of the best gaming community I've come across, maybe only GAMEFAQ can maybe beat it sometimes.
