Jan 1st 2010 til present. What'd it be? I'ma go with Inception, just phenomenal.

There Will Be Blood, if were takin a rollling ten years back. Since 2010, eek I'll have to think about that.

I've seen several good ones, but my personal favorite has to be Godzilla 2014. The movie had it's down here and there, but overall I thought it was a great start for Hollywood to re-introduce the King of the Monsters to western audiences. I can't even tell how excited I am for Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla 2019, and the remake of Godzilla vs King Kong. :D

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

Live Action: Interstellar (Inception comes close behind it).

Animated: Inside Out (surprisingly meaningful film, absolutely craps on Frozen, the popularity of which has really started to chafe)

Biggest Disappointment: The Hobbit trilogy. I mean, it starts off pretty good but my goodness is it a downhill ride. A *steep* downhill ride. And it's battles and CGI look worse than the original LOTR, how do you DO that?!

Mad Max: Fury Road.  Completely blew away any expectations people had of a soft reboot of the Mad Max series 30 years after the last film was released, and it rightfully earned and won several Academy Award nominations.

Both Toy Story 3 and Inside Out are a close 2nd for me as well, for being about as great as an animated film can possibly be while really tugging on your heart strings.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Ex Machina for a Hollywood flick (they still have a soul and some creativity, it seems). Prometheus has a special place in my heart, A Serbian Film is what I would call a boundary pusher and Leviathan for proving that the Russian censorship is nowhere near as bad as the western media portrays it ( and its one amazing movie, acting wise probably being the best from my list).

I have seen people listing Whiplash, Birdman, The Artist, Boyhood(or did I just saw that one a different list?).Not bad movies, but I guess I had way to high expectations for them.

I cannot choose one, but in all honesty there are few decades after the 70's where I could. Never the less, even if it still not over its a mediocre decade. Way to much flash, with little substance, and the indie scene is either trying to hard or the movies are forgotten in a matter of months.

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Maybe not the best, but two that I've enjoyed the most:

Like father, like son (Soshite Chichi ni Naru) and Moonrise Kingdom

I'm going to have to go with "The Wizard" with Fred Savage. Best movie of all time; it transcends all decades!

Godzilla 2014.
I'm a hardcore Godzilla fanboy who'd been waiting since he was 13 to see the Big G done properly in Hollywood production values, so while the film had its flaws, it was basically a dream come true for me.

From a more critical point of view, Mad Max Fury Road is probably the best.

Interstellar for sure.
