Yeah I agree with most of his points (except regarding BioShock Infinite, which I thought was awful and did permanently damage Ken Levine's reputation in my eyes), especially his idea that, essentially, Hello Games and Sean Murray were out of their depth but kept digging a hole, which only made the eventual disappointment and backlash that much worse.

Also someone needs to tell Jim it's Hello Games, not Hallo Games. That was driving me nuts.

You think Bioshock Infinite was awful? Well I guess everyone has their own opinion.

Has anyone tried getting a refund from Sony yet for NMS?

Marco....

I'm pretty good at reading people, and after watching a lot of that clowns Sean's interviews you can tell he knew exactly what game he was making and knew exactly how it was going to be received.

Luckily for him he had sony to market the hell out of it to ensure it became one of the most anticipated games this gen. At this stage regardless of the quality, the game is going to sell like hot cakes.

People have jokingly called certain games tech demos in the past. This is something else entirely. It's like a tech demo on a whole new level and an exercise is marketing. Any time sony feel they have a dud on their hand, just bring in the guys who marketed NMS.

I think the problem is several things:

1) what he wanted to make and release when ready;

2) how the world and media reacted to it and made it out to be;

3) how he responded to it between then and release;

4) what he said out of panic of there not being enough to do;

5) what he said because he thought he could implement it at some stage even though it won't be there at launch.

Either way, sony and HG need to be clear with their messaging now and let us know what they will and won't charge for.

 I got one with no fuss, though that was likely in large part due to the fact that my reasons had to do with the crashes  worsening to the point where the game became unplayable.  Rather than wait and see if the new patch might or might not fix the issue without bringing up brand-new issues, I contacted Sony support, made it clear that I've been sold a non-functional product, and that the only reason I kept it for so long I was under the hope that things would improve after the initial patching, not worsen.  Didn't get any sort of argument or refusal, they just reminded me of the usual policy on refunds, then in the same breath gave me a refund.  xP

I didnt think Infinite was that great personally either. The start was pretty good, but if you need to look on the internet to understand the story, then theres something wrong :)

Personally I still love Bioshock 1 the most, the opening was amazing.

This! so much this!.

I believe HG would fix much of the backlash if they just came out and be clear about what they are going to do from here on.

What if they make some of the things as paid dlc that were supposed to be originally in the base game?

I understood the story without looking anything on the internet, the ending was great imo.

My friend got a refund from Sony.  Though they did explicitly state that it was against their policy to do so and it was a one time thing.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
