I strongly doubt this. |
I don't like games just because they're called "Zelda". I didn't like Wind Waker or Majora's Mask at all.
My reasons for being excited for this, as I have explained at length multiple times, are all to do with the nuances and clever touches in how you interact with the game world, which has nothing to do with it being a Zelda game.

Which are scopes of others games already released that you are not calling the most impressive things you saw in years, but you are now with Zelda. The fact that much, if not every single thing, present on this game has already been part of other games and people just noticing them now because they are in a strong brand franchise, is what I'm reffering to. |
I have never seen another game that has all the nuances and features Breath of the Wild has, all seamlessly integrated in the world in an unscripted and non-gimmicky way.
witcher 3 looks completely flat compared to BOTW physic based mechanics
I don't think there's anything particularly impressive in BOTW per se. But seeing all those elements combined in a Zelda game is what has me hyped for the game.
I really have a hard time with people praising it like it re-invented the wheel, and that of course because it's a Nintendo game, all those ideas and implementation of them are godly and have never been done before with such grace and finesse and blah blah blah. Really, there's nothing I've never seen in this elsewhere.
That being said, I'm a huge Zelda fan. Not because it is an innovative franchise, but because of a lot of elements that combine into a package that satisfy my needs for that kind of game. Compelling combat, atmosphere, puzzles, the way you progress through the game via new items and equipment--> with older locations holding new secrets once you get certain items later on, the music, the actual way you get stronger over time by finding hidden treasures after solving secret puzzles by following obscure leads from seemingly random npcs, etc...
I have to say this is the best looking Zelda game since ALTTP, from a gameplay perspective. The game looks really fun to play, is pleasing to the eye, and I can't wait to finally play through it.
Well, they haven't showed me anything disappointing since the official reveal during E3 so I'm still impressed

It could be a new IP called "Fields of Dawn" or some crap and I'd still think it was the most impressive game I've seen in years. |
By most people I didn't mean here or another gaming site, but the average gamer that's not a nintendo fan necessarily. I don't know you to be sure if that's true or not.
Also kinda funny that some people call haters everyone saying this game doesn't look that impressive or revolutionary. If the thread is asking a question why the hell can't we say our opinion? not everyone has to agree

Oh man this is so amazing, all the gameplay possibilities. It's incredible how you can beat enemies in so many different ways. The physics, the fluid movement, the animations. And the bomb arrows return yeeeeeesssssss.
God I can't wait to play this.

I'm sure there are some who are primarily interested because it's Zelda, but there have been other Zelda games that did not get nearly as much attention and hype as this one, so I think there's a lot more to it than brand power alone.
