Forums - Gaming Discussion - Pokemon Go Loses More Than 15 Million Daily Users in a Month

I wonder how many active users they will have in the winter time :P.

Anything that asks people to leave their comfort zone on a regular basis isn't going to last.

30 milion of daily users?? Holy shit, is impressive that still have so many people playing.

"though it's still more popular than before its release."

I had to LOL.

Easy to misread, but it's actually referring to the popularity of the search terms 'augmented reality' and not Pokémon GO.

I noticed. But the whole metric is ridiculous. People only search for something once. How does that reflect players retention?

So like every other mobile game then?

Every other mobile game loses more than 15 million users? I think I have to do a mobile game now...

It's Winter only on one half of the world

They'll be back for the events and when another 150 Pokemon will be released.

Intel Core i7 8700K | 32 GB DDR 4 PC 3200 | ROG STRIX Z370-F Gaming | RTX 3090 FE| Crappy Monitor| HTC Vive Pro :3

it still has an insanely high user base considering the mistakes Niantic has been making and the fact that (at least ATM) its a bit reptitive in gameplay

percentage wise pretty much every big mobile game is going to lose a large amount of users after the first month or two, that's fact. Pokemon GO is actually holding up surprisingly well considering the massive userbase to begin with. like others mentioned, its one of those games where content is key too- plenty of the people who left may pop back up again occasionally when they release later Pokemon

30 million people still regularly logging into a game that requires you do shit outside is insane

It dropped 22% in the US in one month. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but I knew it was going to be a fad here. By Jan, it'll be long gone.

But, people forget, this game was MEANT to be a fad. It was pretty much meant to convince people to play the real Pokemon games. And you know what? It worked! So, all is well that ends well.

look at stats for any giant mobile game that releases, 22% is not a bad dip at all if you have tens of millions of users. again, especially with the arguable limited content that Niantic needs to improve
