Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gameplay of the unreleased Goldeneye 007 remake for XBLA

It's a shame this never came out. The original Goldeneye 007 was already a pretty fun game and I'm sure this remake would have been even better! Oh well.

That cant be a remake. Looks like its just a HD version.

Looks like it could have been good. The Perfect Dark remaster was fantastic.

It's not like we never got a real remake of Goldeneye anyway.

Would've been nice to play the original at 60fps without all the hassle of emulation, but I loved the Goldeneye remake that we got, so I'm happy.

That's more like Goldeneye reimagined as a Call of Duty game.

I didn't find it felt like COD at all.

COD is a squad-based military FPS, with stealth mostly relegated to dumbed down "follow the leader" segments where you simply shadow an NPC from cover to cover.

The Goldeneye remake however was a solo spy shooter with far superior stealth mechanics to COD and a much more seamless and balanced mix of stealth and action.

I enjoyed that Goldeneye 007 remake, but it felt very different compared to the original. I agree that it wasn't quite like a CoD game though.
