Forums - Sales Discussion - No Man’s Sky Sales Drop by 81% in Second Week

That's a normal drop for games that have big launch sales.

Given the reviews, its no wonder. But I dont think Hello Games is complaining, given how much they sold worldwide.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I think people who really wanted it, got it early. This game probably wont have great legs.

Meh, not that big of a deal. Uncharted 4 dropped 78%.

Well most sales are in week 1 so that seems to be pretty normal.

If their drop was 50% that would be considered a massive success.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

When new content drops the sales will increase.

The PS5 Exists.

Looks shocking but that's about standard for most game. I still think this game will have good legs but not sure, it's a tricky one. We'll see!

We will still have to wait and see to see if it'll have legs. It only dropped 3 percentage points more than UC4, despite the difference in review scores, so it seems like the lukewarm critical reception hasn't hindered sales too much.

True.  Once they get all the promised features working in a more stable game, I think sales will see a really nice bump.  I think this is going to follow the same path as Driveclub.  Launch was not quite a disaster, but not far from it.  But, as the new features poured in, an incredible game was born.  Just wish these things didn't have to be patched in and it was mostly complete at launch.

Even though Angry Joe raged at some of the things missing and some of the stability issues, he still gave it a strong 5/10 (which is an average game for him), almost a 6.  I think he'll give it a rereview once they patch in all the new features.  I'm guessing it'll get an 8 or 9 after that.

I think that's normal especially for a game for a specific audience who really wanted it day one.

But the player count on Steam dropped like crazy which shows that most people stop playing it pretty fast.

That will change if they will implement some multiplayer mode in the future though,
