Forums - Gaming Discussion - Should the voting system be removed from the News section? or at least the down voting??.

I'm 100% in favour of people voicing their opinions with votes, regardless of their intent.

I usually end with up votes unless I say some stupid shit. Most of the time it is a good thing that someone gets downvoted so much that their comment is collapsed especially for bots or double comments.

Leave the voting system the way it is. This is nothing wrong with it. For anyone who's afraid to get a "down vote," just don't comment! It's that simple, and I'm putting it VERY nicely.

This seems like a whole lot of ta-do about someone not liking that someone didn't like their opinion. You say something someone doesn't agree with, they downvote. You say something they do agree with, they upvote. No one is REQUIRED to explain their agreement or disagreement.

The entitlement is real.

Don't see a problem with it, if people don't agree with a statement they downvote it, if they agree with a statement they upvote it. What's the problem?

Ive been downvoted many times just giving/sharing my personal view or opinion and trying to contribute on a mature way to the news article. I would prefer a just upvote and report system, sometimes there are offensive or spambot replies but overall people are really abusing the downvotes :(

And thats why the system is broken.

So what you're saying is that the system needs to pander to one's personal insecurities...?

So people disagreeing with your personal view or opinion is now abuse?

Mmm I think it depends how you look at downvotes, I simply view them as either "agree with opinion/post" and "disagree with opinion/post". Your opinion or personal view being downvoted isn't an attack, it's just people saying they don't share that opinion, at least that's what I see it as...

no thats not true, they don't have to upvote and they are welcome to reply, but downvoting something seems "harsh" like on a topic where it says something positive and about, lets say Xbox one, and i would reply something like "this is great" and you get downvoted -10, seems.... abusive to me, if someone wants to comment and say why its not great, more power to them. Thats what is great about the internet, sharing opinions and discussing things
