Well if it wasn't official already it most certainly is now, For Fun-Free For All's online are nothing but a joke, literally! It's been over 6 months since I last talked about this, yet it's still just as common, no, even more so than before, proving that this was not a fad or phase but the standard, the norm. It's pretty fascinating how widespread this became even with the lack of in-game communication, and yes it can be fun to play like this, but only on occasion, not every single match. This especially sucks because tournament mode doesn't get enough players anymore, so this is once again the only way to play with default rules online. I have to wonder if Nintendo is even aware of this since I don't think they've said anything about it and I don't even see people talking about this. Well it is an issue that matters!

I never play free for-all-mode, but I usually play one on one matches in For Glory because the online is more stable that way from my experience. Sorry to hear that the part of Smash Online you're referring isn't playing smoothly.

Well yeah. Nintendo just hasn't made online gaming and infrastructure a priority.

Something that the NX must remedy mind you. Must. Absolutely, positively, 100% must.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Double post.

Not as bad as SFV's online even though it is improving.

I've never bothered with Smash online. Always play with mates over.

I don't play online that much. and if I do, it's to play with mates and cousins.

Also, it's not too bad for free internet. I certainly will accept lower quality online for certain games in exchange for not paying for internet.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Same here. I can't even remember the last time I tried Smash 4's online.

Smash's online is still inherently great though, usually good connection and a variety of modes.

Really? I'm pretty sure people actually fight in SFV though. :L

2 minute time free-for-all matches on Skyworld with items on... that's not what I would call "default rules" lol.

I think Nintendo only somewhat cares about for glory 1v1s when it comes to online Smash, because that's probably the most popular online mode by far. Most people who want to play free-for-alls with items would just rather play with their friends at home (yes I am aware not everyone has that opportunity).

You can call it whatever you like, but by definition that is what the default rules of the game actually are and always have been and will be.

Can't remember the last time I clicked on the "For Fun" portion of Online Play. I usually go into "For Glory" 1v1 or Team Battle.
