The Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco just ended and the winner for the Master division is Wolfe Glik !

Wolfe thanks to some incredible predictions managed to take the first match pretty easily while the second match was made harder for him due to a poisoning landed by Evans' Mega Gengar on Wolfe's Archeo Kyogre but Wolfe managed to still come out on top against Jhonatan Evans. Surprisingly both finalists didn't use Xerneas, one of the strongest Pokémon of the metagame since the teams of both players focused on countering Xerneas.

The two final matches in the Masters divisions were AMAZING, easily two of the best in the Pokémon VGC history, Wolfe's team didn't have any of the Big 6 Pokémon while Evans only had Groudon !

If anything last year had an overcentralized metagamr

Last year was yveltal, yveltal, yveltal, genesect/virizion, yveltal, and 1% original decks.  Will say this though- last year(if I recall) had a Wailord/Suicune deck, probably one of my favorite decks that were played in Worlds.

 

Hopefully next year(with the introduction of Z-moves/GX) we will see different decks.
