I thought the LAN port on PS3/PS3 slim was essentially an ethernet port which could be used for pairing consoles physically and locally? The PS3 did not have both an ethernet port and a LAN port...

Thanks for the info. I think I'm just going to shut up.

Hehe I'm even more intriged now. There is obviously some port next to the triangle.... You are right that it does not make logistical sense to have the optical port above the HDD.

I think I have an answer to that symbol. It's for networking. It would also explain if that is indeed a port next to it.

Like a system link/LAN between multplie PS4 Slims?? That hasn't been a feature since the OG Xbox hehe. Very well could be though.

You do know that the PS4 supports LAN parties already right...

We'll they are claiming the console was stolen and they are striking every unboxing video on YouTube down, so I doubt that.

If anything, this confirms more than it's leaked because there is also interest why it's taken down, accelerating the forum discussions even a bit more.

Stolen from where though?  See what I mean?  Didn't this thing show up in the UK?  Of course they will take the videos down, but this thing is in like full production obviously so they literally could launch it at any moment.  Maybe they gotta burn through those COD bundles first lol.  But seriously, I have seen the same tactics used in the past when it comes to 'leaks'.  Microsoft is one of the worst offenders ever.  Nearly everything for Xbox is leaked ahead of time.  It was so bad that even though no one wants to admit it, thats the reason why their E3 sucked.  There was nothing new at all.

My mistake. It's a feature that I had not read about in so long that I thought it stopped being implemented.

Supposedly stolen from a shipping truck.

The PS5 Exists.

From what I'm seeing on Twitter it's much quieter than the OG PS4. I'm a little jealous.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

This Slim console has gotten way to much hate for being ugly, when it really isnt.

Its just the box art & the early poorly taken photos of it that left a bad impression.

I think it looks fine in the pictures you posted Gribble.

It's actually a good looking console. Box art didn't do it justice but the pictures after looked fine and these latest pix impressed me even more.

Looks quite a bit better in that natural sunlight. Good reference photo with the original PS4 in there for scale.

I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it. It maintains the same angles and simply fillets the sharp corners of the original design. It loses maybe 20mm in width and depth and a fair amount on the height, which is nice for those who stack their consoles sideways.

The only thing it loses is the admittedly nice accent status light strip and the shiny HDD cover panel.
