I'm fine with both of them, but I think I would say 3rd person, as I like seeing my character on screen. Though it depends on the type of game whether 1st or 3rd person is better to use.

1st person. I played through GTA5 exclusively in first person, driving as well. I don't need anyone to walk in front of me blocking my view. 3rd person is fine for cartoony games and when there's climbing involved.
