It only has 13 reviews though and most gaming-centric websites have given it praise.The critics that gave it a low score aren't familiar with Final fantasy reading from their reviews nor are familiar with FFXV so it's only expected for them to be lost in this movie(something Nozue should have prevented, so it's also his shortcoming as a director). RT still refuses to include IGN's review on the films RT page for some reason. Also You can't really judge its box office performance when it's only showing for one day I think in VERY small number of screens(less than 20).

The thing is with this movie is, it's only part of a big story, it's a sort of foundation and a way of giving the GAMER better insight to the big story that's going to be in the game. So real film critics will just hate this as they probably don't understand what it's all about. The reviews I've seen say if you're watching it as a stand alone movie then you probably won't like it but if you're watching it to go side by side with the main game to give you a better insight of the whole story then not only will you like it but they highly recommend it to make the game more unstandable as it undoubtably will.

Exactly, I think this movie is probably a big pile of shit but critic reviews are way less accurate when it comes to this kind of film so they can be ignored.
