The multiplayer tech test is around the corner, and nothing really helps us more than when millions of people play together, stress our systems and try out things we never would have thought of and try out new things in ways we wouldn't otherwise imagine.

The main reason we are doing a MP tech test is to satisfy an engineering goal - to stress test our servers and prove that they can scale.  Since our server backend is per-platform, it means we only actually need a single platform to test this.  More platforms can be a good sanity check, but we don't need to test them all to make sure we are on a good path for launch.

I'm glad they started talking about the beta atleast. Just dont do something stupid and release it during the same time as the battlefield beta

Its an aggressivly abrasive community. 

As long as the PC multiplayer isn't fucked over and includes an actual server browser, I honestly don't mind not having a beta MP.

Lol only those people though, not like humans in general are curious at all to know anything they wish to. Also there has been info dug up from many a game in the past that has been related to consoles. Honestly seems like a daft reason tbh, though this makes me hope that their SP is damn well amazing if they need to keep it so tightly wrapped, I'm talking GOTY award type amazing, otherwise don't sell yourself too far if you aren't going to deliver in full.

That seems to be a solid and solemn promise, I'll be holding them to the note when the game launches, if it's in a terrible state then they are likely to get lynched by a crowd or two. Won't be pre-ordering the game though, I don't see any reason to, never did for the last one either.

Apparently it's too "provoking" and I've been asked to change it. God forbid someone calls a developer out for lying and misleading people. Hilarious.

Chazore, in the original beta basically the entire game was spoiled from data mining. All maps, weapons, upgrades, everything. Now that they are also making a SP, I'm not surprised they might want to protect it from people spoiling the entire thing before the game is even out. Sucks that PC only users won't get to experience the beta. Maybe they'll do a demo once the actual game is out.

If they do a demo then I can imagine data being taken from that as well =P. Also I;m not sure if a demo will suffice to give us the skinny on what the MP is about on the PC side.

Don't forget we've had console games datamined before in the past, unless they want to specifically call people that do that as being only PC gamers then I;d see them as regular joe people who just want to know about something.

Also I dunno why they asked to change your sig, we've got a few people on here who have had thought provoking sigs that haven't been changed in months. 

I meant a MP demo at launch or after launch, when spoiling it won't be nearly as big a deal, and people could get a taste of all the new stuff. As for the MP, that does suck if you don't have a console. Personally I want to play the beta in action because I am worried about all the new shit they are adding. The original is a perfectly balanced treat. I worry they are going all MW2 on us.

I don't even know who the sig could provoke. I guess some don't like liars being called out or made fun of. Strangely if I were making fun of Peter Molyneux or Todd Howard I doubt it would be a big deal. NMS isn't even exclusive and will be on Xbone anyway, LOL.

At launch?, then why not just release the full game and let the information spread really fast like it always does when it happens?.

I don't get why we have to have spoiler rules when we just had NMS a super hyped to hell game release on the PS4 days before the PC launch, info went all over the place before a whole platform of players got to even experience things on their end and the world didn't really go on fire.

I'm not all that fussed about not getting into a beta MP, as long as the final prduct is very polished and works quit e well then I'm happy. But the thing is with the devs in this case is they are citing datamining as a big reason for not giving us a snippet of MP beta as well as the old config scenario which all devs end up doing regardless, even AAA devs do this all the time, it just feels weak but at the same time he is promising PC players the world in terms of a very supposed stable quality release for those gamers. If he doesn't deliver then his aforementioned reasons are just going to net him with complaints and tbh I'm not going to be the one to defend him or the rest since 1. they are denying a group from wanting to help make their own experience better and 2. The devs are promising a solid PC release with no proof that they even will.

I just hope the SP doesn't bleed into the MP, MP from the first game was near perfect, I don't really want it to be messed up for the sake of appealing to a crowd that never liked their first game (the SP only crowd).

I honestly don't think that's fair for them to force you to remove the sig, if they make you do it then the same should apply to others with any sort of sig that pokes at someone/something else.
