Confirmed. And wow, the game actually went gold and they simply want to "ship the game with a big day one patch" in the disc instead of forcing the download
Permanently lost a customer. Hope it flops and the franchise is buried for good
The obsession with ridiculous and useless technicalities is yet another nail in the slow-moving coffin of AAA development. I will enjoy the bubble burst

You've got to be kidding. Ever since Square-Enix released footage and demos of the game, everyone and their mothers have been complaining about the lower than expected IQ and struggling framerate. Now you're telling us that they're just "useless technicalities"? The obsession for those things isn't on Square-Enix's side only.

You're just displaying a typical overreaction...

If they're "losing a customer" over this, I doubt you were ever seriously considering that game.

Pre-order cancelled!!! Down with SE and I hope the game flops!

Am I doing it right?? Seriously, it's 60 days. It's not that big of a deal.

I am really looking forward to this game. I've been waiting, hyped and confident about it since 2006.

Enough that I pre-ordered the Ultimate Collector's Edition (the most money I've ever put on a single game). I wished I had the game right now, like most people who are hyped for it.

But two months is nothing when you have been waiting 10 years for that game. The reason behind the delay is also a good one in my book. Especially when you consider how limited the console's HDDs are. Having to uninstall and reinstall games all the time is annoying. Even moreso when there's a huge patch you need to download in order to have the game working as intended.

So, as you said, not that big of a deal.

It's quite funny isn't it!

i can only guess they're the type of people who had everything when they wanted when they were young kids, very spoilt children used to getting it their own way and pulling screaming fits when they didn't get it.

Yeah, I get frustrated but I'm never really mad at delays (games are hard to make-go figure!) but I do get annoyed at bad practices like announcing a game years and years before you expect it to hit the market. This remains my problem with SE.

So eager to show off new shiny trailers without having much of a game behind the scenes to back it up.

So about all those Gamestops someone mentioned earlier? I think we can take this as confirmation they don't know f**k all and we can disregard anything they say in future.

Big mistake, the sales are gonna suffer, Sept is a dry month as is most of October, it's missing the extra 2 month of sales leading up to black friday and the possible discounts by then. By Nov 29 the casuals and those only mildly interested will have spent their money on other big releases as well as cheap stuff on Black Friday.

You say this as if the game wasn't among the top 3 biggest releases of the year. -____-

Didn't say it was. Of course gamers are also to blame for paying attention to what doesn't matter and neglecting what does. Cause from what I've seen none of those people even know how to play the game. You'd think learning that would be more important than pixel hunting

It's not. FIFA, COD, Battlefield and Pokemon are all bigger. Probably Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Watch Dogs & Gears of War too.

We'll see about that in time. The point remains, the game's audience will be there regardless of what releases around the same time. The argument that a game like FF XV will have its sales greatly impacted and that it's a "big mistake" because of games from completely different genre is rather ludicrous. The game will be a hot item during the holiday season, no doubt.

From what I've seen, and from what I've played, I'd say they pretty much took care of what matters first.

They want to avoid any Day 1 patch and just have all of the game ready to go right when you put the disc in your console.

I would bet you'd complain if they had a Day 1 patch too. I'm personally not too bothered, but it's another embarrassment for Square.
