Some of you may remeber this thread

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=216695&page=1

I lost my last job back in June and I was both disappointed and happy about it. Mostly due to the shittiest colleagues one could imagine. Well, as of next Monday I'm back in a new job. Featuring:

Same work environment though about half as small

Same daily tasks

Same pay

Waaaaaaaay nicer colleagues

An hour less away from home

It's in internal IT again though I did have another opportunity. I basically had the questionable to decide my entire path for the next 5 years within one week. I had to decide between a stable job with decent pay vs a career path in consulting with likely a lot better pay in the future. It was a really hard decision since I love my job and I always want to develop my skills even further, a thing I will most likely not achieve in the job I chose. That however was the only downside compared to the many downsides of a consulting job, so I picked the 100% safe option. I may regret it in a few years but I can't really blame myself since the decision was just that hard.

Anyway, I can now start planning again what I'm gonna do with my surplus income from the coming months. New PC here I come!

Anyone else had a really hard job decision to make like this?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Congrats! Now you can buy all of us lube

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Congrats!

After I finish climbing out of this debt hole (about $1500 to go!) I'll be moving on from the oil field. It's not a career path I like, but the real challenge will be deciding on a career that's true to myself. The means to get there will be zilch in the end.

Congrats on starting your next chapter in life! Hopefully this won't negatively impact your presence around here, I enjoy reading your comments

Praise the Lord! Amazing news buddy! I pray that you have a great time in the new workplace.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Wow, congratulations! I am still 30k in debt, which is a lot here in Brazil. I have 43 payments in my house (a house in Brazil costs around 100k) and 20 payments in my car.

Congrats. I was wondering the whole time if you'd find a new job.

May be similar to your old job, but the new slab of paint really makes a difference

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Congratz! I recently quit my last job last month due to some circumstances. But I got hired to a new job a couple of hours ago actually XD

To keep the "Splatoon" theme I had on that thread, this is the point when you play Squads with your friends, and they're all S+

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Congrats! Having good coworkers definitely makes a work place that much better. Also, being an hour less away from home is huge.
