Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Will the Xbox One S have a prolonged improvement on Xbox sales?

Neh, i think it'll only last a few months, then they'll have to do sales on it as well, to keep up.

$399 version with 4 free games.  So not a sale per se but a pretty good deal for a new xbox version.

I don't want a 2tb but if they do that for the $299 version it makes it hard to ignore till scorpio

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I believe that it will improved xb1 to a level better than it was before but I'm not completely sure if it would be enough to beat ps4 during the holidays unless Sony delays ps4 neo and/or doesn't cut the original ps4 price.

I'd say no.
1). It's not a significant upgrade for existing X1 owners
2.) X1 sells primarily on the basis of value - not feature set. We'd get Halo and Madden bundles regardless of whether the S existed or not.
3. 4K Blu ray is a nice bonus, but not really mainstream and honestly out reach for the majority of folks out there who can't afford a 4K TV to begin with

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It'll definitely improve sales for a few months. And it'll probably improve the base level sales by a few K. Of course, it still won't stand a chance against PS4 at $299. Or the Neo, if that launches at $399.

Xbox One slim will sell well until Sony cuts the price of the PS4 down to 249$-299$.

Doubt it, the NEO will eliminate the buzz fairly quickly...

It is near the end of the end....

Maybe US but in the rest of the world I think will be the same!

Do you think that's true in the UK, where the initial Xbox One S sales appear to have been very strong?  I also think Canada, where the Xbox brand has traditionally been very strong (the original Xbox did proportionately better in Canada than in any other country), could see an improvement.

Though the biggest percentage improvements may be in places where the Xbox traditionally hasn't done well.  If sales are low, proportionately little may be required to move the needle.  Seems strange to me that a smaller, more powerful, more energy efficient, bundled from day 1 system won't have *any* effect on sales at all.

The US sure, Globally nope. The Story of Xbox.

Sad but true. I mean Japan just won't bite. Europe is decent but man, Japan. I sometimes wonder why Microsoft even bothers bringing it over there.

But for my OP reply, I think the One S will have a limited increase in sales until Scorpio arrives. With scorpio coming next year, it kind of puts a halt in One S's progress. Honestly, I don't think Scorpio needs to come out next year.
