Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Will the Xbox One S have a prolonged improvement on Xbox sales?

Will the Xbox One S have a prolonged improvement on Xbox sales? It seems to me it might, because:

- reviews suggest the consensus is that the S is much more attractive

- it's coming bundled right out of the gate (Halo 5, Madden, Gears 4), even for the $299 USD SKU

- it's one of the cheapest UHD BD players on the market

That last point could be a big benefit. The PS2 benefitted from being one of the cheapest DVD players on the market, and the PS3 benefitted from being one of the cheapest BD players. The importance of physical media has declined somewhat, but the Xbox One S being one of the cheapest UHD players available (on top of all the other things it can do) can only help it. How much of a sustained uptick do you think the Xbox One S represents for the Xbox One platform, if any?

I believe Xbox could have a great recuperation. If anything PS3 slim proved a hardware revision and lower prices can help a system have a comeback.

Neh, i think it'll only last a few months, then they'll have to do sales on it as well, to keep up.

Should do rather well; trading up for a larger hard drive is an attractive option and it coincides with 4K televisions becoming more common.

3 more sold every month.

I think you Nailed it in the opening post and that is exactly why it's going to accelerate sales of the Xbox One.

The US sure, Globally nope. The Story of Xbox.

It will deffenitely increase the sales overall because one of the things the XBOX One didn't have was a good design, so anyone who didn't want one over that, will want one now.

That with the addition of it being a cheap 4k player, will also boost sales.

As it stands right now it would proberbly even outsell the PS4 for quite some time, but we all know the PS4Slim and NEO are going to be announced to change that, and they proberbly will if they also offer 4k playback.

Its also had some decent free games tossed in as well on promos.  I saw the 2tb with 4 free games thrown in for $399

If they do promos like this for the $299 version it will likely do very well

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.
