My personal favorites are

1.) The Dark Knight

2.) Batman Begins

3.) Batman '89

4.) X2: X-Men 2

5.) The Watchmen

6.) Dick Tracy

7.) X-Men: Days of Future Past

7.) Deadpool

8.) Unbreakable

9.) Superman (Donner)

10.) Spider-Man 2

11.) Hellboy

12.) Iron Man

13.) Guardians of the Galaxy

14.) Superman II

15.) Blade 2

Honorable Mention: Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (I dunno I feel like the two FF movies before the reboot are not so bad and feel more like a Marvel Comic to me).

As you can tell ... while I can enjoy the Marvel/Disney movies well enough ... they're not my favorites.

Had to edit my list for Unbreakable and Dick Tracy.

The Dark Knight blew me away when I first saw it, and it's still amazing.

Im dissapointed VGCs..... so few mentions of "Guardians of the Galaxy" & "Watchmen" ?
Those should be the clear winners of this thread imo, with the edge going to Guardians.

The Avengers. I have watched it several times, it doesn't get old.

I just named my 2 favourites but if I keep the list going it would be:

1. The Dark Knight
2. Watchmen
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. The Avengers
5. X-Men: Days of the future past

If something I'm dissapointed at the amount of people that is saying Spiderman II, is like, seriously? Such an average and forgettable movie with a meh direction.

Either Man of Steel or Batman V Superman.

They work so well together that I feel they need to be combined as one movie. It's like you don't watch just one Lord of the Rings movie. Feel you need to watch both those movies as one. Hoping Justice League completes it as a trilogy as the writers have said it would.

Second place goes to Captain America Winter Soldier. Too bad Civil War was a mess, otherwise it could have been a great 1, 2 punch like Man of Steel BvS was. Cause their stories are also very connected as one.

As for a simple watch while flipping channels, I woudl say seeing either GoG or Deadpool on tv would make me stay and watch. Though sadly Deadpool is a double negative. It's not a movie I want to pop in a Blu Ray for to watch, but on tv it woudl be censored probably to unwatchable.

But Man of Steel, BvS, and Winter Soldier are movies that if I was flipping chanels and saw it on, I would watch probably about 10 minutes, then get up and go and grab my blu ray and put it in. The rest of the Marvel, DC universe I would not bother and just casually have teh movie on the background while surfing web probably. As said above the winners for background titles would be Deadpool and GoG.

Plenty to choose from, but "The Dark Knight" stands out to me as being such a tight script and sense of feeling both intimate and epic without ever dragging for me.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a different category of just being a fun adventure that brings me so much joy.

I am also apparently the odd ball that favorite super hero is Spider-Man, and yet I have not really enjoyed any of his films. Civil War gives me hope that Homecoming could finally change that.

X-Men First Class has to be the best

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I liked the Hellboy movies the most, but I can see why Spider-Man 2 is so highly regarded. Was expecting Dark Knight to be the most common answer, though.

Still waiting for Hellboy 3. And waiting. And waiting :(

I know exactly how you feel.  The implications of Hellboy 2's ending demands a completion of the trilogy!

I'm glad someone mentions those films. I might prefer The Dark Knight and The Flashpoint Paradox to those two, but I'm on the camp that thinks Man of Steel and Batman V Superman are two very good superhero movies. I have some minor issues with Man of Steel (mostly the rushed characterisation at times, like how limited the relationship between Clark and Lois is given screen, making that kiss at the end feel a little rushed and forced, how Pa Kent dies, and how Lois doesn't seem to be affected by the gravity hole that sucks everything else near the end of the film...), but I came out of Batman V Superman wondering what the heck the critics were on about, because I went into it aware of the negative criticism and ready to be disappointed, yet came out of the theater thinking the movie had good pace, good characterisation, interesting plot and characterisation, etc.

So yeah, I'm glad someone else managed to enjoy it as much as I did. And I can't wait for Justice League, Wonder Woman, the rumored Man of Steel 2, and Affleck's solo Batman movie, among other DCEU movies coming out down the line.
