The sequels you are talking about had different directors, different lead actors and actresses. Not really sequels, but even more proof of the impact Batman 1989 really had(even crap semisequels made big money). When Batman 1989 came out, it was one of the top grossing movies of all time. It was a big deal to mainstream audiences. Blades total gross was less than $100 million and had more to do with Wesley Snipes at his peak popularity. Even though I am a big fan of the Blade movie, its social impact was small.
