I can't guarantee anything, but it's worked both times I tried it.

From what I've seen from post about the new one is that it should be great. But i really worry about the servers being able to keep up with the amount of data this is sure to use.

Can't wait for it to be fully updated in.

Have there been any estimates as to what it cost to keep Pokemon go up and running, enough servers available etc  I know the gaem is bringing in big $ s now but it must cost a to maintain the network/game etc too as many people as there are playing it

I haven't played the game in long enough that I don't really care anymore. Tracking could be absolute perfection, but they killed my desire to even try when they put a stop to any and all tracking as if it were the Devil itself to try to push more microstransactions through frustratingly pointless exploration and increased encounters with the same old Pokemon.

Errrr... yeah you did kind of say the situation was as bad as a 60 dollar game... "The game being free makes no difference." "They are no better than Dice, COD, Bethesda, and Ubisoft developers at this point."

So you compared them to other companies making full retail games.  The word you used was "no better" which literally means "as bad as". And you said it literally makes no difference.  No difference means it's the same, or another way to say as bad as.  If you meant something different then whatever, but that's what you said and what I reacted to.

And you can judge things whatever you want.  And I'm not suggesting anyone play things you don't like.  But if you ate a bad free sample, what would you do?  Probably shrug, move on your life, not eat there, or maybe try another sample next time you're there to see if it's improved.  Would you demand the manager provide you with an explanation immediately then start screaming in the middle of the food court about how you'll never eat there again?  I'm pretty sure you wouldn't, but that's pretty much were people doing.

Ninantic took down the feature which wasn't working then, and within a few days explained that they were working on replacing it with something better.  The feature went down on July 30th and the announcement came on August 2nd.  Seems fairly reasonable.  And, in about a week, they've partially rolled out the new system, and are beta testing the other part which certainly seems like a very nice improvement.  So honestly, I'm not sure there was any legitimate cause for complaints, yet alone the type of hissy fits people were having.

Yea i said they are no better than buggy game developers. I never compared pokego to any games only the developers so there is no free vs 60$ argument. I am purely judging developer to developer.

I play the game im level 23 soon to be 24 i know what the game is and isnt.

The game has been broken since launch with a glitch with no fix or announcement they removed all 3rd party apps causing those that actually spend money on the game to effectively be screwed. Here we sit nearly 2 weeks later and the update hasnt even been fully implemented so please tell me how wonderful niantic has been with their support.

This doesnt even begin to cover how many days people have been unable to login or connect to their servers. The game crashes constantly. Or any of the other stupid stuff that happens each day or time they update and break something else.

I believe it only works one time for each, aka three times.

... So you were comparing developers... but not comparing the games they make.  Come on now.  There was a pretty obvious implicit comparison between the games.  If you're not comparing them based on the games they release, what exactly are you comparing?  That's like saying "yeah I said Burger King was as good as McDonalds, but I never compared their food."

At any rate, I don't care if you didn't mention 60 dollars vs free.  I brought that up, because it is incredibly relevant.  If you're suggesting that there is no difference between asking for 60 dollars from somoen and then giving them a glitchy product and giving someone a glitchy product for free, then letting them decide whether they want to pay anything or not, then I am legitimately baffled.

For someone who thinks the game is completely broken, you sure are playing it quite a bit.  So you clearly think the game is worth playing despite the issues.  So you started playing the game, and before you had to pay a single penny, you had the opportunity to see how the game functioned and decide whether or not is was worth playing and/or spending money on.  Much better than paying 60 dollars for something then finding out about all the glitches.  Wouldn't you say?

I started this conversation talking specifically about this feature and it's removal, so I'm not sure why you keep bringing up other things.  But hey whatever.  Ninantic never promised you'd be able to use any other third party app, and they are well within their rights to block these sites from accessing their servers (which is not the same thing as removing them).

Game hasn't crashed on me twice in the past week and I haven't had any issue connecting to servers.  Gyms now function perfectly about 99% of the time.  Game is way better than it was at launch.

"Here we sit nearly 2 weeks later and the update hasnt even been fully implemented so please tell me how wonderful niantic has been with their support."  You mean like almost two whole weeks?  Like 12 whole days?  Yeah, that's clearly a ridiculously long amount of time :-/

The new sightings feature is ALREADY better than the old system.  The radius is decreased by alot, and the list refreshes every ten seconds or so, so you never wind up chasing after pokemon that aren't there.  It's already much easier to find the Pokemon you're looking for.  And they're beta testing a feature that's going to make it even better.  It's an always online game Considering the length of time that has passed, and that the feature is already better and is going to be made better still, I don't really think there is any cause for any complaints regarding this issue.  There especially wasn't any cause for the immature reactions we saw.

I compared the developers yea. I said developers clearly in original post, I said they were a buggy developer, sure your going to compare their body of work (games) but im only speaking on their development abilities in those titles and not how expensive or sales of the titles. I dont know why this isnt clear.

Its not really relevant. Only reason you seem to think it is, is so you can invalidate peoples opinions of the game by saying its free. Which doesnt invalidate anything you can still give critisim out if something is free. We can judge works of art without painting. We can go to a theater and say that movie sucked when someone else payed for it. There is plenty of free to play games that people dont like just because something is free doesnt mean people cant be critical of it. Is that a factor in judging things sure however its not some overriding factor.

I dont think the game is completely broken. I think the game has some serious issues that if not corrected will lead to me not playing it anymore. Sure. Why i play it and the fact i do doesnt invalidate my opinions aswell. It should only strengthen them.

You actually started this convo complaining about those that complain about the game.  "Oh, so the people bitching about this and saying they'd never again were being childish idiots? Who'da thunk,,," They can absolutely remove or block anything they want to dealing with their game. However it would have been alot more helpful to work with these apps and incorperate them into their game since they dont have anything at all. Its basicly like people modding your game people loving it and going F off all you modders. Except they are fixing a broken game and not just doing mods. Its just a dick move imo.

My wife and i probably have had to restart the game perhaps 15-20 times just today alone. Various issues. Freezing, Pokestops not showing, Sightings not working, ect ect. Um gyms have never had a issue that i can remember specificly. I wish they would tweak the balancing on them as they are impossible to hold and harder to maintain.

12 days since they have removed 3rd party apps. How long since the 3 step glitch? Another 15-20 days? So now we are talking 3-5 weeks..Yeah now your talking rediculous. The new system i dont think is going to be much better. Most of the things i want are not near pokestops sure alot of your building pokemons will be but your rare stuff or just stuff that doesnt pop up is going to be just as hard to find. Ive missed out on 4 maybe 5 snorlax's just because i cant track him down. The area isnt some consistant spot on the sightings so your running around with the game giving you general impressions but with a target that seems to be jumping around. I just had one down the road from my house and i obviously know my area i hit every road had him #1 on the sightings and he never showed anywhere and he appeared to be changing where he actually was each time he went off the sightings. So for me its not better its still subpar. And i likely wont be playing much longer and im sure im not the only one.

I am obviously pretty close to this issue because i play the game a decent chunk of the day. I dont know if you do or not but acting like everything is perfectly fine and great couldnt be farther from the truth. I also dont feel like screaming from the rooftops and those that do sure are overreacting. I feel the truth on the subject is somewhere inbetween. Im not going to continue having some long conversation about this. Ive said what i have to say, i know your stance thats fine. Happy hunting.
