I don`t understand the hate Snyder gets. I really like the tone he gave to Man Of Steel. A disaster drama with Superman in it. I mean, there is an alien invasion happening and they are destroying a city and the battle against Zod causes a lot of colateral damage. I don`t see why fans see it as something bad. It`s better than a town being destroyed and the hero throwing jokes and punch-lines everywhere...
I loved Snyder vision, and his take on Batman was also great. Nolan Batman Trilogy are great for the realistic take on Batman, using real cities and all. But the mentally disturbed Ben Affleck Batman is also an interesting take. Batman is as mad as the villains he takes out, Joker once said that they`re on same level of madness, the day Batman goes berserk and tries to use his abilities for evil he`s not going to Blackgate Penitenciary, he`s going to Arkham Asylum. |
I've never really complained about the collateral damage in Man of Steel. The main problem in it for me is the lackluster characterization of most of the characters, especially Superman. He just becomes a Jesus metaphor, without having any kind of interesting character. BvS was just an overstuffed mess, where DC and WB tried to rush through three or four different movies worth of storylines at once to kickstart their own movie universe. There are certainly good parts in the two films, but it's not enough against all the bad stuff.
