1. Then there wouldn't be an incentive to emulate them in the first place.

2. It's safe to assume that those people emulate them because they simply don't want to pay for them. None of that "safe rare games for the future" bla bla.

This is two very very big false facts about emulation and its also not safe to assume anything..

People dont emulate to play the game looking "just as good" as the original. They emulate to play the game looking "Better" then the original, or in many cases just so they dont have to have the hassle of having a bunch of their systems hooked up.

Now dont get me wrong. Im not saying people dont also use emulators illegally but them same people also use their consoles illegally.

At least with emulation they have to wait years before most of them games will be playable and by this time the console is pretty much dead/dying/ended.

With modded consoles everything is playable from the get go.

So like i said the issue is not from emulation but from the person who is using it. If that person uses emulation illegally then they also do with their consoles.

If that person has moral issues with piracy then its not going to change by them using an emulator.

So bascally what you're saying is that when a person starts to accept emulation, there are no moral consequences anymore and therefore emulation is cool.

1) Even if a console is near it's end, there is no justification for emulation other than, you said it yourself, shiny graphics

2) A person using a console illegally has still no justification to use emulators.

3) If someone wants to play a specific game, why not just buy it? Why wait many years for an emulator? It must be the free games.

For those of you who wish to discuss piracy - do it elsewhere. Do not further disrupt this thread with that. There are places you can choose to visit (or create) if the legalities of the system are what you want to talk about. I'll grant it.

In here, however, that conversation is over!

How dare people be critical of a tool that's going to be used for piracy. Personally I'm not a fan of people stealing games especially on a nich system like the wii u where smaller titles such as fatal frame and xenoblade need every sale they can get

Looks like Xenoblade is already running pretty decent.

The next months are gonna be interesting

That's what I hope their focus is on.

Impressive work those guys do with the developement of the emulator.

I occassionally watch jon goodgames channel to see how far along things have come.
With 1.5.5c they fixed the texture pop in & out, with xenoblade.

Indeed!. This is why emulation is great! xD.

It's sad that we have to describe normal things as "great" just because some console manufacturers don't have their shit together.
