We have discussed NMS on a couple occassions, buy I have never talked about the pop-in. Somebody more learned than I brought it up. Side note: What a totally choice time to have my ps4 packed away in storage!

Can't you unpack it? Or are you playing it on the PC?

It's packed away until I find a new place. I am staying with my mom until then. I left a PS3 at her place last year, so I have that and my Vita to keep me going. Currently an EDF addict. Starting Earth Defence Force 2025 now after platting the 2 Vita edf games. I do miss it though. Was really into GTA V before I had the troubles at my old apartment.

Ah, ok. From what I've seen so far, be prepared to dig it out. :)

It sure will for some people, but I doubt it'll win a lot of goty awards. Game is too decisive and a lot of the fans are/will be disappointed it doesn't live up to their lofty expectations. Usually GOTY winners have near universal praise.

It's a mixed bag really. Most No Man's Sky fans are more than happy with it because it's exactly what they expected. I've seen lots of people who were not interested in it suddenly finding interest and pre-ordering. That only leaves a few people who expected more for one reason or another.

Ofcourse it can but I expect it to be one of those games that will be popular for a group of people and a large group that doesn't see the appeal.

Don't think so. It'll sell decently well, but most people probably won't care. We'll see in a few days.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

You basically described most games. The only games not covered by that description are games that sell poorly.

It might win an award here or there, but I don't the game will have the kind of wide reaching appeal to win many of them.

That said, I'm still excited for the game.

Its minecraft in space.... where everyone is one 1 server, and the map size, is millions of times bigger than anything in minecraft.

That should appeal to alot of people.

I mean look how well minecraft is doing, and thats basically just a sandbox.

This is minecraft in space, but with purpose (exploration & getting to the center of the universe).

It really isn't Minecraft in space though.

Minecraft is Lego the video game. It's focus is on being able to build and manipulate the world as you'd like.

NMS is an exploration based game that's focus is on being able to experience the world  as you'd like.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
