A lot of Japanese ones, I'm sure, which helps in Japan.  But lately, in the West, its not been shown much love.  Most likely because sales are slowing down incredibly from its first few years AND unlike the XBO, it's not easy to just port over some games from PC/PS4 to it.

Ya it only helps in Japan, hence why 3DS has sold close to 40 million outside of Japan.

A device that combines the support of 3DS & Wii U will have strong Japanese support, strong indie support & strong kid/family friendly support.

The only thing missing would be mainstream western support but Wii U had decent western support initially, they just couldnt hold onto it, if NX can hold get and hold onto that than they will have pretty much all bases covered.

Might want to read the bolded part.

And more accurately I should have said it helps them in Japan, but not incredibly so lately.  Nintendo is trying to combine a market that they have only dominated once AND a market they always dominated, but is a dying market.  Not really seeing an extremely positive result for them.

Outside of Japan, 3DS shipped about 21 million from March 2011 to Sept 2013 (2.5 years) and about 17 million from Oct 2013 to March 2016 (2.5 years).

Not really the hige decline you're making it out to be.

Hmm. I'm guessing there's a reason you went with 2.5 years.  Let's use 3 years.

In it's first 3 years on sale, the 3DS shipped 27M outside of Japan.  As of March 2016, it has shipped an additional 10.5M.  Do you honestly think it's going to ship an additional 16.5M in the next year outside of Japan?  Or even 12.5M to match your 4M decline? Hell, last year it only did 8.5M WW.  Yea, that's quite the decline.

yes, there is a reason why i went with 2.5 years, because that is roughly half of its current life. The 1st half vs the 2nd half.

But late ports are the only things TT could give the NX at launch. They don't have anything coming out in Jan-March.

The only thing they COULD give, no. It's more the only thing they would give though.

Well, what else could TT give the NX at launch?

Sorry, the 3DS has seen a massive decline in sales. And the hard truth is, it's launch year was its peak year.  It went from over 15M, to just shy of 15M, to just shy of 13M, to about 8M, to last year's 7.5M (actually worse than what I originally calculated.)  And this year it started the first quarter down by about 750K YOY. Not very good.

Take-Two Interactive won’t have any titles ready for the NX launch. Is this a sign of things to come in terms of future third-party support for Nintendo NX?

When the Nintendo NX launches in March 2017, the platform will have The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild serving as its must-own piece of software, and now it seems as though one major third-party publisher will not be attending the NX launch party. Take-Two Interactive, parent company of 2K and Rockstar Games, announced during a Q1 earnings call on Aug. 4 that the company will see no impact from the Nintendo NX during the current fiscal year. For reference, Take-Two’s current fiscal year will end on March 31, 2017.

What does this mean? Well, it means that Take-Two will have no games available for Nintendo NX during its March launch. Take-Two was an early supporter of the Nintendo Wii U, having had NBA 2K13 and Transformers Prime ready for the Wii U’s Nov. 2012 launch in North America. Things quickly soured, however, as the company became hesitant to release software on the Wii U platform and support dried up.

That was a given, for Take-Two and for most western devs

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019
