The pop-in seems to be really a big issue with the launch of No Man Sky, doesn't it?

The lazy OP didn't give any context for the PC date of 12th August. When was it supposed to be released? Was there some delays talked about recently? When is the console release?

Console release was the 9th, PC was going to be the same in the US and the UK was the 12th but now all PC regions are now the 12th which means the PC version in total has now been held back 3 days.

Okay, not a big deal.

But what did you mean by this:

Thats true but 20 hours of playing is quite a lot of playtime to issue a refund really. If steam made it so users can refund games after playing that long, most people would just abuse the system since most games out there are bearly 10 hours. Heck, considering the amount of indie games on steam that barely make it 3 hours, I think it would be a giant issue. So to me it makes sense why they did it for two hours but extreme cases should be the exception of course like Batman was.

Bugs here and there are to be expected of every game, specially open world games. Just as long as it doesn't format ur pc or rape the save file, I think it should be fine.

Also if I remember correctly, they limited the time because during Steam sales, it would have allowed for users to buy the game cheap, play it for a bit and get a refund without question. That I could see being a main reason as to why it's limited the way it is and I can agree why.

I don't understand what kind of consumer behaviour you're really describing here, what have the Steam sales to do with how they designed the refund system?

If you could buy the game really cheap during the Steam sale, like say back when they had the flash sales, you would be able to buy it for next to nothing and then if the user wanted they could then file for the refund, Valve didn't really want that happening en masse which was another reason why they removed flash sales.

Yes, but I can't tell you what they are. All I know is they've made it so it's possible to run it on most decent PCs.

Alright sounds good. Since I won't be home from the 12th-16th I'll buy it on the 17th.

It also supports 21:9 monitors so if you have one of those you're in luck :)

Dualshockers managed to get one of the requirements a few moths back, this could be the minimum or the max: http://www.dualshockers.com/2016/03/03/no-mans-sky-pc-system-requirement-announced-8-gigabyte-ram-required/

Very disappointed at Hello Games, I am still unable to play NMS due to issues. They need to hurry and patch this game fast because every day that passes I am slowly losing interests. I loved the demo and I don’t want to have to turn my head away from this game due to a lack of support.
I hope all those playing now are having a blast.
