Uh oh, disaster in the making. The opening ceremony just made a very strong global warming call to action statement. That won't go over well.

They already are a disaster, but as Sochi proved, you can still have the things with your host in complete disarray.

How are they a disaster ? They are going on withou a hitch, the opening ceremony was quite beautfull and well executed (while spending only 1/10th of the money spent by London). Competitions are going well, the atendance isn't spetacular but its nohing atrocious either, its a very alright Olympics so far.

The media has manipulated people to the extent that society has become an extention of their BS. Don't pay attention to it. The world isn't 1/10th as bad as everyone thinks it is.
And yes, the games have been just great so far.

Several of the buildings were rushed to completion resulting in a ton of problems with entire hotels just completely flooded. The accommadations for in the Athlete's village are completely unacceptable. I'm also not even mentioning the extremely obvious problems with Brazil itself with the Zika virus outbreak, polluted waters, and large civil unrest (where the olympic torch runners had stones pelted at them and the military was called in to keep locals in check).
There's literally a laundry list of problems that stem from corruption, poor management of funds and time, and plain incompetence. Almost every promise Brazil made to get the Olympics has been a lie.
I don't really care about the dolled up events like the Opening Ceremony. There's literally no way to botch that.
the Opening Ceremony was great!! who cares what they spend for it, as long as it remains up to the standards in one way or another, global environment message was touching
and regarding to what we see on tv, which is like 99% of the audience, everything seems to run smoothly so far
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

And yet the athletes are acomodated and saying everything is going super fine when you ask them... Brazilian corruption is systemic it has nothing to do with the Olympics, Brazilian social issues also have 0 relation to the games, and quite frankly with how much money Brazil makes the country should have enought to atend its population and host the Olympics, wich brings us back to the corruption problems, and the zika virus is global and not at all a problem during the winter since the mosquito is in its egg state on that period. Despite the international medias best efforts the Rio games are going great so far.
The international press will have a super bad day when the Olympics end and not 1 athlete has contracted zika.

Where are you getting this? This isn't the case at all. Some might not have horrible experiences, but this isn't the case for all. To ensure that my thoughts were correct, I double checked. It took less than 5 minutes to find several examples of atheletes reporting all kinds of problems.
The social issues in Brazil are indeed relevant. It contributes to the environment that the athletes, tourists, and guests live in for the next month. The city is incredibly unsafe and the safety problems contribute to the overall problem of the event.
And I truly hope you don't actually believe that people want anyone to contract a virus or illness... That's something else if so.

Yes, you seem to talk with a profound knowledge of the issue.
