Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So I think it's pretty safe to assume Nintendo will NOT be revealing NX live at TGS 2016

Why do we care? Everyone apparently knows what it is, when it releases, its games...

Even if the forum goers did and people who actively seek out gaming news, there is probably quite a huge number of people who don't. Which also echoes the problem with doing a self made event.

They'll reveal it after launch. ;)

Imo if they dont reveal it by end sep, its because its launch has been delayed again.

I mean normally companys reveal a product 5months before launching it right?

If it launches early march, 2017..... you cant have them doing the reveal in November (3-4 months of time only????).

If its not shown in september, I think its because its delayed.

Early November reveal, late march release that would be close to 5 months. One month less than Xbox One for instance.  I think all are within margin of what is acceptable, I think September/October is most likely though but I am A-okay with an August reveal as well :P So much smoke everywhere

Yeah, but people don't seem to remember the other half of ps4's reveal strategy which was a game focused E3. Both were vital in creating the hype machine that put PS4 on top I'd say.

It's a great way to keep the competition from stealing your ideas I guess, lol.

Why would anyone expect Nintendo to be at TGS? They never go to TGS.

Because they have a console to announce, and they've never done that outside a live press conference at E3.

Nintendo doesn't attend the event. Anytime they've had an announcement around the time of TGS, they made it at their own event.

since NX wasn't at E3 i think a dedicated release event is most likely.

But now they are taking on a HUGE risk, again one that was brought up when E3 was nearing. They may vastly limit exposer by doing this, and also it could backfire if TGS has some really amazing announcements that trump what Nintendo has to show. It could make or break them in one swoop.

A) no it won't backfire.  gaming media will be very excited to attend this event and exposure will be as good will a dedicated event as it will in a non-dedicated event.  half the point of a dedicated event is the announcement happens when no one else is announcing and therefore nothing can overshadow your announcement.

B) TGS have some realy amazing announcements,..... lololololololololololololololol.

Uh technically that's not true, N64, GameCube, GBA were all announced and shown first outside of E3 or TGS (Shoshinkai 1995 and Space World 2000). Even the 3DS and Wii U if you want to get technical were announced before E3.

I like Directs more than live presentations. I always figured it would be an awesome Direct as that has been Nintendo's shift.

I think you always get more detail and better experience out of the reveal videos companies have than their live presentations. Direct is just that reveal video x 10.

Nintendo never attends TGS. People probably meant Nintendo is having their own press conference (like the 2011 one) near the date of TGS.
