Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So I think it's pretty safe to assume Nintendo will NOT be revealing NX live at TGS 2016

I wouldn't be shocked if Nintendo is waiting for Sony to announce Neo first. Maybe even for it to launch. Then Sony won't be able to 'borrow' Nintendo's concept easily. Or it will take longer to incorporate into Neo.

Nintendo never does TGS, and usually companies who reveal hardware do it at their own press events. Putting them around E3 or TGS doesn't usually go very well.

Eh, no doubt, but when they announced NX would not be at E3, a lot of people assumed they would wait for TGS. I personally think it's a very smart idea to do a direct personally.

Beyond that, a lot of people were anticipating the announcement mid Sep reveal if they did do a direct.

This pretty much destroys both theories.

Imo if they dont reveal it by end sep, its because its launch has been delayed again.

I mean normally companys reveal a product 5months before launching it right?

So the rumored September reveal has another date crossed off the chart. That leaves late august at earliest and late October/early November at latest I would guess... Cant see them revealing it later than that.

If it launches early march, 2017..... you cant have them doing the reveal in November (3-4 months of time only????).

If its not shown in september, I think its because its delayed.

This is borderline silly talk.

"borrow" the concept ????...... PS4 neo is not going to be a handheld hybrid console, with a mobile chip in it.

Sony might make a new PS VITA, to compete with the NX.... but I doubt it.  PS Vita 2, will probably never be.

They will probably reveal it in Spetember, but at a separate event.

TGS was never in question

Sony gave 2weeks notice for the PS4 reveal, so even August is still a podibility

Wasn't it already said somewhere that Nintendo will hold its own keynote for the NX reveal?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

If Neo is coming out this year they couldn't anyway as the Neo design would've been finished and sent to factories to start build up stock.

I just can't wait for it to be revealed. put all the speculation to bed and let us have some real talk not based on speculation

My thoughts remain the same, I still believe the reveal will come late September. I mean early October is the absolute latest they can reveal it, there's no way they can wait past then as otherwise they'll be drowned out by the holidays and/or not have enough time to build hype and awareness. Plus they want people to know NX exist so they could potentially reconsider picking up a different system for the holidays. That's also why I'm sure the NX reveal date will be unveiled before TGS to steal some thunder from that as well.

Sony announced it at February 20, 2013 (going by wiki)

That was like 7months before it launched.

I doubt Nintendo will launch a console, without atleast 5months prior haveing announced it.

If its not shown in September, its because its delayed to a later date than March 2017.

Nintendo says Marketing is why the Wii U sales are as they are..... if they believe that, they wouldnt pull the rough out from under their marketing teams, by just launching the damn thing without a "announcement" and a window of time for them to work in.
