that's one of the reasons why i love buying my consoles at day 1. i know i will maximize my enjoyment per currency unit spent. by the time the neo is out it will have been over 3 years of entertainment i got and i'm quite ready for an upgrade.

Sony mentioned they think the Apple approach to launching new hardware is good. Bare that in mind.

I really don't think Sony is going to accept Microsoft being the only one with a 4k Blu-Ray capable console. So something has to happen this year.

As for the OP. Why would you need those specs? Seriously.

i take your point on battery life, sure that could get a boost. i didn't even consider it because i have 2 ds4 and if one is running low on battery i plug it in and start using the 2nd one.

 

on pc i use it wired through usb so it's a non factor for me personally.

 

but still... no need to ask for a 150 eur controller just for that

Not saying it should cost 150 euros with improved battery life, just pointint out that there is room for improvement =)

If Microsoft didn't show the Scorpio card this year i think we would have seen the Neo by the end of 2016, but i think we will see the Neo early 2017

I would have too, except until very recently there have been no Must Have games (for me) that were not already available on the PC. This generation has had a slow start when considering the types of games I like on Consoles.

well on bloodborne alone i would have found enough reasons to jump on board. in my mind at least i don't just buy a platform for what it has at that moment, but also for what i'm sure it will have. same reason why i've got a day 1 psvr. even though i'm not expecting any must have title right away, by the time the novelty starts to wear off the bigger titles should be releasing.

 

i hear you on pc though... can't live without pc gaming myself

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Makes you wonder when they will actually release a proper successor to the current gen consoles considering they might be a year difference between the Neo & Scorpio. If Sony release their successor a year earlier than MS, not only will the true successor be more powerful, but they will also have a year head start. If MS launch a successor in the same year as Sony (let's say 3 years from Neo release), they will cut the Scorpio's life short by a year.

I think Sony are playing a waiting game with themselves. They don't want to cannibalise the PSVR sales, but at the same time they don't want to miss out on holiday sales.

Let's keep in mind that the same person who leaked the Neo followed up later with a rumor that Sony planned on bumping up the power to be in line with Scorpio.
