Yes, kids are always the hard part, LET ME IN is a good exception, those kids are amazing...

I'm watching it right now because I've been meaning to for a while, but you should know that the kids in this movie don't even compare to the kids in the original this remake is based off of called "let the right one in". Let me in seems to have better cinematography, but the acting doesn't compare.
And these guys made a few weird decisions in script and in their personalities. I dunno, watch the original, you'll see what I mean.

ugh. I just watched the first time she kills. Man. This movie is so try-hard, and not in a good way.

I think you may be comparing it to something that it is not meant to be compared to. It is not a remake at all, it is an original scripting based on something called the Montauk Chronicles and the documentary that was made based on encounters and first hand accounts and stories. Don't reach for other things to compare it to, just watch. This show is truly amazing, and I can't wait for the next season. Definitely a 5/5.

Edit: Never mind, I just realized you peeps were talking about another movie/show entirely. Haha :P

It is cool, but I think they've kinda played most of their trump cards with the show already.

Like I don't see season 2 topping that.

That is actually fine.  I like some shows to have an ending and thats it.  I would prefer if the brothers who directed this show start to pump out some more material and really get their creative juices going.  I do agree that after finishing the show I wanted more but then i thought about it and felt that just leaving a horror movie right there keeps it special.

Everybody seems to love it so I put it on my list.

I've been recommending this show to everyone I know. It's a kind of entertainment we stopped getting and it feels so exciting and nostalgic while wearing its influences on its sleeve. I was a big fan of Super 8, and this kind of fits in the same mold. Looking forward to season 2.

Did pretty good for Netflix. Apparently got rejected by most major networks.

Haven't seen it. Trying to convince my wife to watch it. She doesn't like scarier shows. How much horror or intense elements does it have?

Very little horror, it is like Goosebumps level of horror, and very little gore also, it is 90% atmosphere and mood, it reminds me a lot of Goonies, ET and Can´t Buy me Love.

My wife and I just watched the first episode. She immediately blamed me in case she has nightmares tonight, did not like the first part at all. Dunno if she'll be up for the rest, She can't stand Goonies, hates ET, dunno about Can't buy me love yet Back to the future is already way too corny for her liking.
I thought the first episode was good anyway, great soundtrack and nice to have an 80's looking show with modern surround sound, great atmosphere.

3/5 for me. I enjoyed it but it was let down by a few braindead plot/story moments and holes. The classic people doing stupid things in horror movies that no sane person would ever do.
