Finished it in one day and I cannot wait for a second season.

I get how some people think it isn't original or relies too much on 80's references, but I still think it is very well done and a nice alternative. A lot of the nods are subtle and organic and they managed to do an entire season without dragging it out.

I agree. Nice to see that you liked it so much to see it in a single day, I was yesterday with a friend and I wanted to show him Stranger Things, we end up watching 6 episode in a row in the same night xD and I enjoyed just as I did the first time, such an addictive and well crafted show.

skipping over most of the replies because..

...haven't seen it but thanks for the recommendation. it's in my queue but my queue is really long these days. get's hard to choose my next show sometimes.

Ya ditto. So many shows, so little time. Nice to know everyone here seems to have loved it though, will try to bump it up my list I suppose

Yes, i watched it right away and it gives MW the impression that the show is off from amazing start but i do fear that it will end up like most series do, they run out of continuation quite fast after the second season

Some of the best acting by children I've ever seen. The girl that plays Eleven is remarkable even among several strong performances.

Enjoyed it at first, when it was like ET/Goonies meets Half-Life (or at least that was my feel)...not so much when it turned into teenage romantic triangle with random acts of bravery (read stupidity).

Still find it enjoyable, it's just that later part of the season is much weaker.

There are few movies that for me have a magical quality about them. Something about them makes me feel warm, happy and euphoric. The combination of nostalgia, atmosphere, the characters, the sense of wonder, the setting and 1986 make this such a great package.

I've been meaning to watch it, been hearing a lot of praise for it.

It was very good. Some of the kids got on my nerves though, especially the main one and Lucas.
