I doubt that there is no audience for Visual Novels on Nintendo handhelds. The main problem for that kind of games on DS and 3DS was the low display resolution. If they fix that for the NX-handheld, many Vita games will be ported.

But I thought Vita have no gaemz?

On a serious note though, although there could potentially be a deluge of ports from Vita (or more likely Vita/NX multi plat releases) in the NX's early days. I also fully expected the 3DS to get lots of the bigger 3rd party PSP titles ported and that didn't really materialise.

Or they just as likely move to the mobile/ PC space. OR that and PS4 since IPs are beginning to see PS4/ Vita release for the inevitable change to console only PS world. 

There is really no likely situation in this case. 

Given how many Vita games couldn't be comfortably played on mobile phones, how many were attempts to recreate previously successful psp/3DS games and the clear preference for mobile gaming in Japan, there is definitely a likely outcome. If Nintendo manage to keep Yokai Watch, Monster Hunter etc on their platform (again likely- these are Handheld favoured IPs) alongside their usual output (Pokemon, Animal crossing, Mario, splatoon etc) they're presenting a very obvious platform for Vita developers to move to. Obviously not all but many.  

Y'all really want the NX to flop :(
