Oh, and what was wrong with the original port, anyway?

Lots.  Capcom decided to send the PC delveoper the PS2 version instead of the Gamecube version.  Even then it took Ubisoft to port the PS2's shader code over.

Should I download mods, then?

I know the original Resident Evil 4 PC was modded to hell (In a good way).  The only problem is that they never got around the video cutscenes.  I think the best they did was upscale the videos.  I'm also not sure if they ever replaced the shader tech with what was in the gamecube or anything better.  The current Resident Evil 4 on Steam is a port of the gamecube version.

Which mods should I download?

How do I check those other specs? I only know how to check my processor and display adaptors.

Hold the Windows key and hit the R key.   Then type dxdiag and hit enter.   That will give you all the info about your computer.

Thanks!

Honestly, I have no idea.  With the re-release I'm not sure if you can even find the old mods anymore.

This might be a good start: http://residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/5119/resident-evil-2007-ultra-project
