Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Okami be a successful affair for Wii gamers?

I was fully planning on purchasing this gamefor the Wii....... but while purchasing another game off Ebay I noticed the same seller had Okami for sale for the PS2 and it was still sealed. And it was 20 minutes from end of auction. And it was only $15 dollars. And the shipping was only $1 since I had purchased another item already. Anyway I should be getting my PS2 copy in the next few days. I really have high hopes for this game and hope it performs well on the Wii.

You will be hard pressed to find a Zelda derivative that works so well. It's a derivative by the director's admission. Yet considering what great games the Zelda games are, this is a compliment.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Did you quote the wrong person? This doesnt seem to relate to anything I said.

Unfortunately I have the game for PS2 so I can't justify purchasing this.

I do expect it to outperform the PS2 version though. Okami was released amongst many other high profile titles in the fall, which didn't do it any favors. Games like Bully, Final Fantasy XII, Gears of War, Twilight Princess and others were crowding the spotlight and Okami got swallowed up. It didn't help out matters any that Capcom released two Clover games around the same time that may have directly competed with each other to fans of the developer.

i like, i may buy it....

but i hope that games like Zack and Wiki or No More Heroes, keep on selling as Wii sales increase..... like MySims and Lego Star Wars did (million sellers)

Okami is a lot more fun than Zack and Wiki, imo. I hope it sells well. I got several hours into it before I got sidetracked at some point...it's on my list to get back to (a growing list, ugh), but now that it's coming out on the Wii I think I'll rent it. The wiimote isn't he most accurate pointer in the world but the analog painting was probably the worst part of a great game. This game was made to be on the Wii.

I thought you were asking what the game was like. I misread.

Yet my description still stands.
