See, this is the problem, you say this as if this is objective but it is all just an opinion. To me, Gen 1 has barely anything but nostalgic value. Blastoise, Charizard, Mewtwo, Pidgeot, they're all awesome don't get me wrong but geez, Grimer, Muk, Voltorb, Electrode, Geodude, Exeggcute, Cubone (Love the story behind it but makes no sense), Farfetch'd, Mr.Mime, Jynx, Lickitung, Magnemite, Magneton, Dodrio, Diglett, Dugtrio, there are so many that are bad and/or lazy. Porygon is just a 3d mesh from Maya that came to life. You can have your opinion about your favorite gen but it's hard to deny that a lot of the original 151 are just as bad as or worse than Vanilluxe or Garbodor.
Oricorio and Minior are amazing btw... But if you don't like their designs, good on you, mate ;)

Your opinion of course, you see Voltorb as simple and elegant and I see an ugly, lazy and unimaginative pokéball. With Diglett, I just see a wack'a mole, worse than Vanillish tbh :P

And that's fine, I just think it's awfully dumb and lazy. But people hate on Doublade (one of my favorites) and it's fine, I don't like it less because of it. But to shit on it and praise Gen 1's designs is just dumb to me :P
