Forums - Sports Discussion - The NFL Thread 2016: New England Patriots Win Super Bowl LI

Who will win Super Bowl LI?

New England Patriots 51 47.66%

Kansas City Chiefs 3 2.80%

Pittsburgh Steelers 6 5.61%

Other (AFC) 3 2.80%

Dallas Cowboys 10 9.35%

Atlanta Falcons 15 14.02%

Seattle Seahawks 5 4.67%

Green Bay Packers 5 4.67%

Other (NFC) 4 3.74%

Scoreboard 5 4.67%

Total:107

I don't think I've seen the Patriots play this poorly since the 2014 blowout at Kansas City. Turnovers, stupid penalties, offensive line forgetting how to block, defense missing assignments (which is somewhat forgivable considering how long they've been on the field now).

They're in serious danger of losing this game if they don't get their shit together soon.

This game is pissing me off...

Is Josh McDaniels on drugs? You're really going to hand off and run it straight at the Texans' D-Line on a third and 1 situation? Did he just forget about QB sneaks?

Lets' go Dallas #FinishThisFight

Did you not see Tom Wheelchair Brady's acceleration?

EDIT: Brady's arm is still really good though. His run speed though... I've seen turtles that were faster.

Ya.. Brady's pretty much your stereotypical pocket passer and nothing else.

Oh, I agree he's terrible at running. But for some reason he's always been wildly successful with QB sneaks. In 14 seasons, on plays with 2 yards or less to go for a first down/touchdown, Brady has gotten the yardage needed 91.3% of the time.

I was expecting the game to be a lot closer than people thought, but I didn't expect to see this many mistakes. Brady had 2 picks, one of which was probably more of the receivers' fault, but there was a shoulda been dropped pick that definitely was Brady's fault, so it evens out. Offensive line missed assignments way too frequently, and Dion Lewis fumbled twice. Defense played reasonably well when they weren't put in an awful position, but it was against Brock Osweiler, so that doesn't say much.

The entire team is going to have to play a lot better next week. Way too many stupid mistakes.

Yup, makes five playoff games in a row that were decided by a comfortable margin.

This means that the Texans are going to be the one team that puts up a real fight.

EDIT: I just remembered something. The Chargers are moving to Los Angeles and nobody in this thread mentioned it. The Chargers truly are the team with the lowest amount of fans... scratch that, make it people who care about anything Chargers-related.

:o they moved to LA? damn I didn't know

Yep.  They are going to play in the MLS team LA Galaxy's stadium for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.  That stadium only holds 27,000 right now.  They are going to expand it to around 30,000.  The stadium they played at in San Diego held over 70,000.  The next smallest stadium is Oakland at 56,000.

Starting in 2019, they are going to share the Rams new staduim.

Between Odell smashing a hole in the wall last week and Seattle collectively losing their shit yesterday, maybe it would be wise for the NFL to offer "How to lose with grace" courses in the offseason.

That's game.

The biggest home deficit they came back from is 10 at home and 14 on the road this game is over.

Fucking finally
