Xbox One back at $299. I think 269 was a sweet spot for the One, it's up into 8th because of it. Is that price sustainable?

yeah looks like people jumped on that price, I don't know if it is sustainable, it must be more expensive to produce with the UHD and improved hardware

Drkohler reckons the BOM for the Xbox One S is over $300. I find it hard to believe that MS would go this route if it did cost that much to make though.

Yeah its a bold route, maybe they are willing to take a loss or maybe they weight the UHD/4k features higher then most, its a guessing game, but It deff looks more expensive to make then the original Xbox, hell, it even looks more expensive to make then the PS4, so I wouldn't be suprised if they can't really push the price too much this year, the ball is in the Sony camp 7 september for sure.

I saw a reference (on some tech site) that iSupply was quoted as saying "The mf price is only $24 higher than the $300 mf price of the original X1". I don't think the mf price of the X1 is $300 to start with (though the mf cost of the X1 is considerably higher than the PS4), so gut feeling tells me $324 would somewhat be on the very high side.

Without at least seeing hires pictures of all things inside the box, my blunt guess would be in the $280 range for the Slim (redesigning the SoC was NOT cheap to redesign). This is also why I shake my head when people are "convinced" (particularly Gaf has some nutjobs) the PS4 Slim would be $199, even $249 I don't see.
