Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo suffers 90% drop in third-party support

Telling figures that show the dire reality of third-party support for the Wii U.

After its share price jumped 83% following the release of mobile sensation Pokémon Go, you’d be forgiven for thinking it would be all smiles over at Nintendo, but the company just released some figures that show how terrible its console market relevance truly is at present. It’s particularly pertinent news given that its next console (currently codenamed NX) is out in only eight months.

I need a pie chart from polygon to understand it.

118 games isn't that bad though. I mean, not exemplary but not bad either. Should have had more first-party games to compensate for it, though.

Misleading article. Consoles saw a drop in support but the article says nothing about handhelds. Since everything unofficial is pointing out for NX to be mainly a handheld I think those numbers might be just as if not more important. They may be worse too, at least when comparing 3ds to the Gameboy line.

It's pretty grim but their first party games negate it imo.

Not really surprising given that the install base for the Wii U is low and a report of the system being hard to develop games for (according to an anonymous developer).

Edit: It would be nice to see charts of Nintendo's handheld systems itself as well as home consoles, though.

It's a shocking stat but unfortunately the reality.

NX is the solution!!

And the downward spiral for Nintendo continues.
