I do find it ironic that the US is criticized so heavily by Europe for being the policeman of the world sometimes. Now, those same people are calling for their government to bend over where they have no real obligation to.

My position in all of this is that something has to be done to help people fleeing from war, but taking in so many economic migrants is not wise. It has long running consequences that I don't think people consider. Doing what feels right at the time may end up being worse for your country.

I find it ironic that the US decides to pretend there are WMD's in Iraq, invade and kill off the leadership of that country unprovoked, and when all hell breaks loose, refuse to take any refugees, while Europe, Turkey and a few others have to foot the bill.

That's what I find ironic really.

But the US does and has been taking refugees for decades. Not to mention that the Syrian conflict has little to nothing to do with the US. Completely off base.

The hardest decision you can make in these cases is to stick with your ideology and have open boarders. Some, like the Swedish government, give up on their own ideology just because there are tougher times, but I respect Merkel in this case.

Ok then, if that's your starting point we will not find any common ground here.

Perhaps it would be useful if you'd go check how the daesh came about exactly.

Welp, I don't know where you are from, but here in germany we prefer to presume innocence until proven otherwise. Not the other way around.

Do you have any sources to back up your claim that only "rich" (the ones I know have basically nothing because they left everything behind, including cars and houses) refugees came to europe?

Society is always changing. You can try to conservate it, but you won't succeed in it. And that isn't even a bad thing. As for that multicultural chaos: You're already living in such a state. Culture is a living thing. It is constantly changing. Culture that doesn't change or doesn't get influenced form the outside only occurs in dead populations. Like the old rome or the old greeks or something.

Sorry, but from what I know, most Germans like to treat foreigners like shit (I was certainly given that impression when I went there). They're very nationalistic from what I can tell, and I don't see that as wrong. But forcing Germany to change its culture for the sake of others is arrogant and downright unfair. Slimebeast has a point, it isn't Europe's reponsibility to take in these people, but rather the countries that haven't bothered at all (the gulf nations). And while culture does change, what we're seeing is a gradual shift to radical Islam throughout western Europe. This isn't a good cultural change, and people who can't see this in hindsight deserve what is coming to them.

I cannot agree with this statement.

And pinning the current unrest in Syria solely to Daesh is ignorant. Syria is largely Russia's problem which is why they're the most active European country in the conflict.

Merkel acknowledged at a news briefing on Thursday that Islamists could use the refugee flow to infiltrate Germany. She also admitted that even a “powerful country” like Germany “cannot take so many refugees in the long term.”

Why " around powerful country? Nothing is ever clear cut! If it was, then we wouldn't need courts, good judgement or even basic intelligence. When human kind can't work through these issues, it's a bad lookout for humanity!!! Should we help? Yes. Should it be easy and clear cut? No! Or else we wouldn't even be talking about it. Or we could be craven and hide in the shadows like the UK who fucked half the world for the best part of a mellinia and now wants out! Cowards run. Leaders find a solution. The US and EU need to find a way to fix the issue. They could start by stopping the onslaught of poor countries in the Middle East. This would automatically stop the flow of refugees and stop the justification behind crazy extremists hating on us in the west!

Well then maybe its just the people from Frankfurt and Munich. Even asking for anything as simple as directions can be a pain. You don't speak German, the people won't give a shit about you. And look, I understand not everybody was rude, but this was the case for me 85% of the time. You spoke in English, they walked past you. If I can saw someone in Canada speaking to me in a foreign language, I would at least tell them that I only spoke English. Now of course this is anecdotal, but I've heard the same story from people who don't speak German going to Germany.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I didn't write that. .-.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Merkel muss weg

Germany is demographics will probably go to shit if they let them all in for the next 10 years. Mainly due to the fact that the flow of immigrants mainly consists out of lowly or non educated males between 20-35. Figuring that Germany has about 10 million males of that age, they will become a minority within their own country. Educating and integrating at least one million immigrants and reffugees is nearly impossible. But at least they will go to shit freely and democraticly. If you don't like the way Germany is going I would suggest going to UK while you still can or Eastern Europe and build a life there. Because Europe won't do anything to secure their borders like US or Australia. They surely won't kick you out once you are in.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
